There are multiple reasons I reach for Olfa frosted rulers for piecing quilts before any other brand. They are accurate. The lines are narrower than other brands and easy to line up. The ink is not raised so the frosted bottom side is smooth while also providing a slightly grippy surface, which makes them less apt to slip when using a rotary cutter. They are the number one rotary cutting ruler in my studio.

Cannot recommend Olfa rulers high enough. The brand is particularly easy to read and use for accurate fabric cuts. I have tried all the brands and find Olfa to be top of my list. My reasons are that some rulers have printing which is confusing and obscures markings making cuts doubly difficult. I just find Olfa frosted rulers have enough printing and markings so as not to be confusing. Easy to cut fabrics with Olfa rulers.

The brand itself is great and it is well made. I always purchase products that are made in Japan, Germany, South Korea, Spain, and the US. Majority of my scissors are made in Germany and Japan. Yes, they are pricey, but you are not going to be disappointed. The Japanese company and their product takes their business seriously. I knew because I lived there for almost 18 years. They are very expensive, but you will get your monies worth. Overall, I highly recommend this product.

I am a beginner quilter and needed to find a specific size ruler for my project. This must be an unusual size as it was now where to be found. I went to amazon and fount it, viola! After receiving my order I was delighted in the quality of the ruler. Here's to the next adventure in my sewing life. Thank you.

I know it’s hard to believe, but I saw a demo at a quilt show comparing all kinds of quilting rulers and have since purchased another size in these FROSTED rulers!! They are by-far the easiest to see! No matter the color, value, or pattern of the fabric, it’s easy to see the edge of it under this ruler! Before this, I tried a ruler (and quilting rulers are NOT cheap), with the bright neon markings, thinking for sure they would be the best, NOPE! They’re worse than even just plain black and white.I’ve been quilting for 20 years and these ARE the easiest I’ve ever used.

I love these frosted rulers. They are so helpful for not only gripping the fabric so they don't slide around on you, but are also marked clearly for ease of seeing the lines on the rulers. I can clearly see the lines on no matter what color fabric I'm using. I also like that there isn't so much on these rulers that it makes it difficult to see the incremental markings on the rulers!

I first bought the 6.5" square ruler, and after testing it out I now have a few different sizes of these Olfa Frosted Advantage rulers. Previously I was using an Omnigrid 4x18" ruler, but never liked it which is why I did not purchase more sizes until I could find a brand I liked. Here are some of the differences:- Olfa Frosted Advantage will stay put so much better on fabric than the slip-and-sliding Omnigrid. They don't grip as some rulers do (which would make them difficult to adjust); instead they will glide enough when you need them to, but stay pretty well put when you hold them down to either mark or rotary cut your fabric. With Omnigrid it would never stay put! The only way I could get it to stay put was laying my fabric on the floor and kneeling on the ruler while I marked/cut.- Olfa Frosted Advantage rulers have more markings per inch along both vertical and horizontal lines than the Omnigrid so you can make more accurate markings & cuts.- Olfa Frosted Advantage rulers are so much easier to see through than Omnigrid, and the markings are much clearer. The Omnigrid has a super shiny surface which makes it difficult to see the lines in any light, but especially if you are in a bright room or have a light nearby; it reflects off the surface and you need to position yourself over the ruler to make a shadow so you can see the lines. Olfa surface is matte so glare is not an issue.- These rulers are easily utilized by either right or left handed users. The markings go around all 4 sides so you can just turn it to the side that suits you.- The markings on all 4 sizes I have are accurate. (6.5x6.5", 6x24", 12.5x12.5", 1.25x12.5")- Before purchase I was a little concerned the black marks would be difficult to see on dark fabrics, but since the marks are between the plastic ruler and frosted backing that is not an issue. The frosted back helps to ensure the marks are still visible on dark fabrics.Overall I would recommend the Olfa Frosted Advantage ruler in any size that suits your purposes.
