As a beginner, deciding what blade(s) to use from such a large variety can be pretty daunting, but with the help of some good instructions books, the internet, and lots of practice, you get the hang of them pretty quickly. Olson's blade chart is full of information on the blades which helps in culling down the list and is a valuable tool in itself. that being said, I like these blades because the stay sharp and true , and stay on the line where you point it. This makes it fun as opposed to a chore.
