I tried to upload a picture but my phone wouldn’t let me but this says 4” and it actually goes out closer to 5 1/2”. It has very good grip and is very solid. You can get it to grip even a little tighter if you put come red grease on the threads. Perfect little vice for working on my vehicles and even doing some gunsmith work. Highly recommend!

This vise does everything I need it to do. A few observations are listed below.- The vise has all steel clamps. (It will mark items if you tighten down. There is Vise's that have a soft rubber padding on the Jaws/clamps.- It is a swivel vise and this is a great feature. (However, it does hold well if you are hammering on something in the vise.)- It does not have have 360 degree swivel capabilities. (it is 240 degrees swivel capabilities)- It does not come with mounting bolts I would buy this vise again considering what I use it for.

En realidad lo uso para trabajos caseros donde no se necesita usar presiones muy fuertes y objetos muy pesados. Se ve realmente resistente y fácil de maniobrar. Lo recomiendo para usos caseros y talacha. Buena relación calidad- precio.

I bought this to replace a cheap Wilton that cracked due to ambitious use. My fault- not the vise. This vise isn't a top of the line vise and it's priced accordingly. I have nice vices big and small to do jobs that I need a good vise to do. I think the price for this delivered to my house is exactly what I wanted. This vise seems good enough to do the jobs relegated to it. It's cheaply made and cheaply priced. I plan to use this as a beater to do basic rudimentary jobs with. I don't plan on putting drive shafts or precision bearings in this thing. I wouldn't use this as my primary vise unless I had no money to buy something better. The threads are a little coarse and in need of grease right out of the box. So while I don't disagree with the haters comments in the reviews, I think it's unfair to compare it to something else not at this price point.

You don't realize how much you miss having a bench vise in your tool shop / tool arsenal until you go without! After completely wrecking an inferior catalog store's [HF] 6 inch vise during the winter of 2018 dismantling & cutting boiler pipes during a home renovation, I went approximately 6 months without. When I decided to reinvest, I checked into Amazon and found this Olympia model which has been a welcomed addition to my shop. It is extremely durable, heavy-duty construction & at nearly half the price of a similar Wilton model, I would not hesitate to buy 2 of these Olympias to increase productivity - one for indoors, one for outdoors.

You simply can't expect more vise for 35 dollars delivered. The metal is thinner than higher end products of the same size, but that shortcoming must be taken in context of the awesome price. It has two locking cleats, reasonable play in the jaws and a respectable opening width. There are pipe jaws and the unit has a nice finish. For a home shop with normal needs (like me), this vise should be more than adequate. Just don't try and do something like press in bearings, or put a pipe on the lever and it should be more than fine. If you need professional level equipment that will deal with heavy daily use or abuse, stick with a forged steel Yost. You'll pay for the privilege though. Once again, I've been shopping a while now and this is simply the most vise you will get for 35 bucks delivered. Probably more than you'll get for 50.

Update: 11 days short of one year. Vise is broken. The weak point is the swivel plate. The design of the mount causes the base to flex under load when you torque an item locked in the vise. Didn't take much doing by hand to bust it in half. You get what you pay for. Still a good piece for holding items in place; not so good a vise for heavy gripping/torquing. Marking down for not being so durable. Not a large body vise by any means. I use this for my home gunsmithing bench and it works just fine. I wouldn't mind larger jaw depth, but its adequate for holding receiver blocks; you'll want something larger for say action blocks or the like. That being said, I took it apart and degreased, then regreased with rail grease. The whole thing runs smoothly and it has a nice low profile. This is the best value in a home workbench vise I've come across for the size. Lower swivel lock does not lock very tight but sets quick using a multi screwdriver as a breaker bar for leverage. No regrets.
