Replacement for the rotten boot on my 1986 Jeep CJ-7 main shifter. Quick and easy install. All holes lined up perfectly. The only issue is the rubber is so stiff, it pulls the stick out of gear unless I'm holding it in place. I'm hoping that the heat from the drive train will soften it it with combined use and maybe it will loosen up.

The rubber is way too stiff. The boot pulls my T5 trans right out of 2nd, 4th, and reverse gears.

This is a good product but it seems like it could use a little more rubber. Or be a little taller.When I am coasting in third or fourth it will pull the shifter out of gear. I think it will stretch out soon enough. Like I said good product. Buy it

Fits perfectly. I hope it lasts longer than the previous one I purchased...it lasted less than two years of limited use. This one does appear to be much higher quality rubber.

I'm using these as replacement boots for the backhoe control levers on my 410B. They are a natural fit - great quality and replace my sun-damaged boots perfectly. Had to do a little trimming, but all in all, these are excellent - can't get OEM anymore, but I suspect these are better quality regardless.

I have an 85 cj7 with a T5 transmission. This shifter boot does not break in. It is made with a thick rubber that is not very flexible. It constantly pulls the shifter out of gear and into neutral. It's truly a safety risk. I would advise purchasing another brand.
