It comes with two holes opposed to one. The original bobbin only had one hole to thread through and this one has two which is way more convenient. I have purchased many of these so I can thread them with different colors and it has made sewing leather so much easier.

Broken on arrival. Not as pictured. The shaft has splines. The photo in description shows smooth shaft.

I purchased this bobbin for my Speedy Stitcher sewing awl so I could easily change threads when necessary. It's slightly taller than the stock item (but still fits perfectly into the awl), and so could actually hold a bit more thread if desired, and is made of metal rather than the plastic bobbin which came with the Speedy Stitcher when purchased. Delivery from China took a few weeks, but the item is just what I wanted and came at a great price.

I keep this handy with another color of waxed leather thread so that if I need to, I can change spools if I need to change colors. Works great.
