OnGuard make good bike locks. Sturdy, well built and easy to use. Comes with perhaps too many keys (5!) but that's ok. Faster to use than the number-code variety. The 3rd OnGuard lock I have purchased in recent years. Good value for money.

Sturdy lock but cheap clip you can attach to your bike to hold the lock while riding. But for this price, i think this is fantastic quality since the main lock is what you buy it for.comes with 4 keys and 1 with a light, really fantastic quality. Definitely recommend it

Weighty but that can only mean it’s a good quality lock and with the cable being plastic coated means my new mountain bike doesn’t get damaged when it’s locked up

Does it's job. Like the wide throat vs. the more narrow ones on the market. I own two of them and I think this is the one that comes with the nifty key with the built-in light. The only complaint. There is a plastic sleeve around the "U". It is not attached to the metal. Sometimes it will slide to one side and get low enough that the lock is difficult to lock up. Until I realized this was the problem, I got very frustrated with this.Last week, I got stuck in a bank of snow up in the mountains, no shovel and we used this, among other things, as a pick/shovel to dig us out. I'm sure OnGuard didn't intend that use, but just to let you know in a pinch this thing can do all sorts of stuff!

I ordered this for my new bike and am very glad I did! When I get to ride into town I never have to worry about leaving my bike. This lock is actually TWO locks. You can use one or both at the same time. It comes with five keys, which you register on-line and, if you somehow lose all five (?), the company will send you another key. Easy to use the U-shaped lock just fits around the frame and locks to a bike post, etc. The second lock, if you use it, involves a plastic-protected chain that wraps through the back wheel and to the bike post. Either are rugged and heavy-duty. I recommend this bike lock.

Great Product. It's a bit bulky and the attachment to the bike is difficult, but other than that the lock is great and so far I haven't had any issues with the keys and the lock. I would definitely not recommend attaching it to the bike though, it's a bit uncomfortable. But then again, this might be because of my bike, not the lock.

I've been using this lock for nearly a year now and am very satisfied with it. The lock is heavy and secure, the keys are easy to use, and I've had no trouble with snow and ice damaging the lock/key mechanism like other, cheaper locks. I've had no issues with mounting bracket releasing the lock or coming loose. Granted, I ride on smooth roads so there isn't much bumping around to dislodge the U-lock from the bracket. My final comment is on customer service. I lost the original mounting bracket and, preferring to secure the lock to the bike frame rather than carry it on the handlebars or in a backpack, I asked if I could purchase a new one separately from the lock. I was pleasantly surprised to receive one for free!

This lock works great, and (so far) protects my bike even when locked up outside my building for hours all day or even overnight. My *only* complaint is that it tends to have a little rattle when biking and going over bumps, but that is pretty standard I think. I had trouble deciding between giving it 4 starts or 5, until I remembered how much better the mounting system for this lock is compared to other comparable locks. The mounting system for this lock is vastly more versatile, allowing my many different configurations that work on my different bikes (where as the mounting systems for other locks left me with no adequate options for a couple of my bikes, and I returned those to the store). I would definitely recommend this lock to others, and have now bought several to use on different bikes (at the same time).

I really like this lock. It feels really beefy and is big enough to get around my bike frame and the bike rack. Also, like the cable so I can loop through my wheel. When I first got the lock, it seemed to big to mount anywhere on my bike, so I was kind of bummed, but then I read the instructions, and saw that it could be mounted on the seat stem. I was skeptical at first, thinking it would interfere with my pedaling, but after I installed it, I didn't even notice it. So that's a plus! I've only had two issues.(1) Sometimes it's difficult to get the base locked onto the 'U'. I did lube the lock with white lithium lube so I know its not jamming as the key turns easily. So I'll live with it.(2) The lock clip that attached to the my bike came unscrewed when I was mountain biking. I know it was tightened when I installed, but I guess all the bouncing down the mountain caused the screw to back out and the lock to fall off. I have since reattached and put some loc-tite on the threads. Hopefully this will hold.

UPDATE: After 4 years of use, this lock has broken on me. After lubricating the lock with the manufacturer's suggested lubricants, one of the lock bolts now slides freely back and forth, when the key is in the unlocked position, which makes it incredibly difficult to open and close the lock. I loved this lock, while it lasted, but 4 years is not a particularly long lifespan.Old review:This lock is just as good as Kryptonite u-locks. The lower price makes it a better value.Positives:-The U is made of thick steel, which I'm confident can not be broken without power tools.-The keyhole is bump-proof, and very difficult to pick.-Comes with five keys, one of which has a flashlight on it.-Comes with a bike frame mount, which can be adjusted to any angle.Negatives:-Because of the way it is designed to be bump-proof, the lock comes with instructions to occasionally lubricate the keyhole with WD-40. Not receiving the lock properly lubricated straight out of the packaging is probably why some people have reported their locks freezing up soon after they buy them. I suggest that everyone who buys one of these squirt some WD-40 into the keyhole before they attempt using their lock for the first time.-The anti-theft warranty must be paid for with a yearly subscription, and it will not cover any theft during which the thief uses power tools to break the lock. I'm quite confident from the feel of this lock that it could ONLY be broken using power tools, which makes the warranty just about useless.
