Love oolong tea

Oolong is my favorite tea (really good as iced tea). Not knowing the brands offered, I bought this because of the price; the cheap man spends the most. It was closer to green tea rather than oolong. I didn't like the taste at all, even as a green tea. Worst of all it had a soapy after taste. After one cup I gave the rest away.I noticed if you sort as 'MOST RECENT' rather than 'TOP REVIEWS', most of the responses indicate a poor tasting tea. Maybe their supplier recently changed, or there was a bad batch; either way you would probably be better off with another choice.

Great oolong flavor, green tea with a nice flavor. I was pleased with the price for the size received. I love loose leaf tea and it's not easy to find.

This product doesn't look like and/or brew like loose-leaf tea. These are more tea-pearls than loose leaves. Taste is fine, however. Brewing instructions direct you to apply the pearls directly to the water to brew. But that leaves sediment inside the liquid tea when you drink - which isn't optimal, for me. I use a tea-ball and even though it is hard to fill, it's better than applying the pearls directly to the hot water.

The taste, the color, the smell, excellent taste on the tea when you brew it or when you make it cold. And great purchase. Thank you guys for your excellent product. Will be looking forward to buying it again before I run out. 7 tbsp to make 4 qt for me.

It is a huge can of green buds that a pinch expands out into the full leaves!. The amount in there beats what would be hundreds of tea bags that only have a little powder inside. The tea bags are now turning out to be bad for you. Vietnam wanting to enter the market now years after the war you are getting a large volume of tea at a very low price that will certainly go up!

UPDATED Review (March 16, 2025) -- I have changed my mind, and now rate this 5-STARS, on the Basis (even though their Label says the Tea is from Mainland China, which I find HARD to believe -- if it is, where is the CA-65 TOXIC CANCER Warning on the Label.... ?). I think this is really a JAPANESE Style (Hot Water Steam Heat Fixing) GREEN TEA, and it's actually quite GOOD, not Bitter (regardless of how long it's Brewed) nor Grassy AT ALL), but a Mild, Green Tea Taste you can drink all day long, and still enjoy for it's Alert Mind but Relaxing Body EFFECT's that I (and my stomach too) like Good Green Japanese Style Green Tea's for.In fact, I just ordered another one, also because the Price is a VALUE Purchase, so I won't run out, anytime soon. Woo-Hoo... !!! Will help me to maintain my Memories of what a Medium Value, Japanese Style Green Tea, used to taste like, from my childhood days growing up.If this Tea is NOT from Japan, then that can be a BLESSING too, because Japanese Green Tea's are now an "ENDANGERED SPECIES", about to become "EXTINCT". Go to NPR Radio, and listen to their Report back in 2024, that the People of Japan have done a MASS SWITCH from Drinking GREEN TEA, to COFFEE, and only the OLD Elderly still drink the Green Tea, but once they're GONE, there is NOONE to Replace them. Japanese Tea Farmers are GOING BANKRUPT, because they cannot sell their Green Tea, especially the HIGH END more Expensive ones... have NO CUSTOMERS anymore. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP... it's TRUE... !!! I was SHOCK'ed to see and hear this on NPR Radio. They said (last year - 2024) that the ONLY Green Teas in Japan now are the CHEAP Low Cost Green Teas in PLASTIC BOTTLES in Vending Machines... a FAR CRY and SEVERE DROP in Quality... SHAMEFUL, if you ask me... !!! NOTHING can replace the Four Key Places Japanese Geen Teas grow and were produced in, because the particular Variant Tea Plant grown there, the Soil, Rain, Climate, Weather, etc etc were UNIQUE to those places, and cannot be Duplicated anywhere else in the World by anyone else... are now being PLOWED UNDER and the Land SOLD OFF to Real Estate Developers. Everything and everybody who used to do it, are now, or will soon be, ALL GONE... FOREVER. So, for me, this IMOZAI, Oolong Pearls can substitute for what was in my memory of what Medium Quality Japanese Teas used to be.FIRST Review, way back in 2023 -- This is the first time I've tried a Wrapped Pearl type tea, and everything I read about it, is true. Don't make the mistake of using too much Tea. I only used a half teaspoon, into 8-oz of water, and it unfolded into a Lot of WHOLE Leaves. Kind of a Very MILD Flavor, Taste, Aroma, and Color, so you could drink this all day and all night long, and still get that Calm and Relaxing Feeling. The Color really is Very Light Greenish-Yellow, and NOT what I was expecting out of an Oolong, but Oolongs have the Widest Spectrum of all the Teas, so depending on how it was Processed, it could be very Light and Mild (like this one is -- though the Color is STILL a mystery to me), all the way over to the opposite end of the Oolong Spectrum, of being Very Dark and Bold. Depending on what I'm in the mood for, this will be my "Go To" Very LIGHT and MILD Oolong Tea. Comes in a very sturdy metal container, with a handy Snap-On Lid, and the Tea is in a Foil Wrapper... but I put it into a Plastic Sealed Bag, to keep it's Freshness from gong bad. A very large amount of Tea, at a Pound, I think, so there is a lot here, and will take a long time to drink it all. If this is what you're looking for, I say "GO FOR IT", and keep it on your Tea Shelf, for your next cup of Very Light and Mild, PEARLS Oolong Tea. 3-Stars, only because the Flavor is not quite as Bold, for an Oolong Tea. (I actually think this tea is MISLABELED, that it's really a GREEN TEA, in Color, Taste, Flavor, and Tea Leaf appearance). Amazon has it "In Stock", so delivery was very fast (arrived the next day). :o)

Mind you, I'm no tea expert. Just an autistic kid going through a hyperfixation with tea okay. So take that as you will. I've tried many a green tea, oolong being a favorite. Harney & Sons has a damn good one but they don't sell it in the pound. It's only 4 to 6 oz and I'm finishing it off fairly quickly. So I decided to branch out and find some by the pound. This one was rated 19 in the top 20. Harney and Sons being the 20th, couldnt tell ya why their shiznit is good shiznit. So for the lower price, higher quantity, and better rating, why tf not.Well it arrived this morning and I'm sipping on it while I write this review. Straight out of the Tin, it's fragrant and earthy. I love it. It is full leaves which is wonderful, however there is some debris and sprigs. It's not as clear as other oolongs that I've had.The flavor is there but a bitter and almost fishy taste follows it to the back of your throat. When sweetened, that seems to disappear but I don't always drink this with sugar or honey. I am curious how that flavor is going to react to some of my own herbs that I like to mix with oolong, like mugwort, Lemon verbena, rose, lavander, shiznit like that. I'll have to update and let yall know.Over view, for the price and quantity, it's not horrible. It's not the greatest out there, but it's not a bad alternative for a cheap green tea. I'll probably use all of it in a couple months. Semi sweetened obviously.
