Purchased based on the cheap price. I moved from a place where I had access to a Smith universal machine and was desperate to be able to at least do some of my usual workout. The construction is sturdy enough and assembly was straightforward. However, being a tall guy (6' 3") with long limbs, there are a lot of the advertised exercises I cannot do safely or effectively. By 'a lot', I mean almost all of them. The uprights of the barbell rack are very close together, so a flat benched press requires me to lift the barbell and scoot down the bench a bit to position my hands wide enough on the bar and get a full range of motion with the lift. Letting the bar back down, I reverse those steps. Doable, but not at any significant weight. The more inclined the bench the harder it becomes to do this, and when I've tried to improvise, the adjustable pegs for the bar's height can come out mid-lift! Declined bench press is somewhat achievable, albeit at a shallow angle, but I'm not sure the bench was designed for it anyway. Regarding a squat, same problem. Even the highest set of holes for the bar rack isn't far enough off the ground for me to crouch under it. With leg exercises like the curl, I have to slide up very far on the bench, as to be hanging off, to get the range of motion I need. Leg extensions, I have to lean way back, and even then, it's awkward. I can't really be that disappointed overall because I saw similar issues mentioned in other reviews and bought anyway. I can still use the weight bench with dumbbell exercises, including incline, and that's about it.
