The belt was recommended to my wife by her Physical therapist as a way to relieve SI joint displacement pains during pregnancy. Per the sizing chart, this belt did not fit her. The two layered design was difficult to get tight enough. The velco didn't align correctly and the rough side of the velcro stuck to other portions of the elastic ruining the elastic. Also tge rough side of the velcro got stuck to my wife's clothing with ruined 2 sweaters and a pair of maternity leggings.

I shied away from SI belts because I used one last pregnancy together with my V2 supporter and it made my pelvic pain (from SPD) even worse. I realize now that it was because my pelvis was so far out of alignment it just exacerbated the issue. I have been careful about alignment this entire pregnancy (4th baby) and it has been remarkable the difference it has made. Last time, I was in tears over the pain every day. I couldn't push a vacuum or put away dishes or walk up stairs, forget sleeping in my bed. After 8 weeks of PT to get me realigned the the pain was nearly gone, but I still had a low threshold for any activity. This time has not been nearly as bad, and I credit this belt with a large part of that. I have been able to tolerate much more activity and recovery time when I have an accident or practice bad body mechanics is much faster, I can do all of my regular chores, I even dug up and transplanted some bushes the day after I got this and had no pain whatsoever during the process. That's crazy! It really provides a ton of stability, and I find it more comfortable and easier to use than similar products. I wear it over a long tank because the strap tends to irritate if I don't. As for love handles, yes, ive got those. It actually not as bad as with just a v2 supporter (which I also wear) because the bulk of the straps make up for some of the compression. But if you're terribly concerned about it, perhaps you don't really need this. It's worth every roll. I find that if I put it on in the morning, I'm ready to be free by about 5 or 6 in the evening.

This belt is designed to help with SI joint and pelvic symphysis pain. When you are pregnant, elastin can make the joints unstable or even begin the stretching apart before baby is in third trimester. This is especially helpful if you have had multiple children, as with each successive pregnancy your joints open more and earlier than previous pregnancies. I am currently pregnant with my fourth child. Before I purchased this belt, I was in significant pain, and walking across the room at the beginning of the second trimester I had to waddle, and it was difficult. Prior to this pregnancy, I was very physically active, hiking and running, doing yoga, regularly. It was a significant change. The very first day I wore this belt, I was not only able to walk around the house feeling lighter and more nimble, I was able to hike again. After a day of wearing it, the pain in the pubic symphysis was completely gone. I take this off for when I expect to spend a lengthy time sitting, or at the very end of day. Other than that, I wear it ALL the time. I tried a regular stretchy maternity belt, and while it was less expensive, it did not help with pelvic pain--although it did relieve some pressure off of back, I was back on the couch unable to walk across the room without pain again within a couple of hours. THIS belt, however, gives immediate results. I wear it over my maternity pants and wear a shirt over it. It shows a little ridge in the front depending on how thin the shirt is, but it is more comfortable this way and I rate my body's health over something superficial that probably no one will notice or care about. It is worth the price, and it is very hardy material. We plan to hike at the Redwood National Park in less than a week and I feel confident that I will be able to enjoy my visit because of this belt. If you are an active person and having pain in the pelvic girdle with your pregnancy, BUY IT, lol!

This belt is helpful if you are going to be walking quite a bit, but for me not necessary for daily activities. My physical therapist recommended only wearing when necessary (walks longer than 20 minutes). Wearing too often could cause the muscles supporting your pelvis to become weaker and make the issue worse. Unfortunately you have to wear the belt against your skin and not with a long tank or leggings below or the belt will not say in place. Sitting in the belt is uncomfortable and causes the belt to dig in more. Its a bit of a pain to have to take this on and off depending on your activities as it does need to be under your clothes to work well. That being said, it was very useful for wearing in the airport and prevented my hips from becoming misaligned, just a pain to have to take it off during the flight and put it back on when you land.

I measured myself according to directions and item was still WAY too large, however, I called them and told them that I ordered the wrong size. They credited my card back, but only after I paid for the correct size first, received it, received the exchange form via email, sent it back and then, I got my money back. Would not have gotten money back if I didn't buy new one. And I know that if I had mentioned that I opened the package and tried it on (over my clean clothes) that they would not have accepted it back as an exchange and I would have completely lost $40. As it was I felt slightly uncomfortable leaving that part out, but I knew I didn't get it dirty and I really needed the right size. All that said, this is my second pregnancy suffering terribly with sacro-illiitis (a form of arthritis very specific to the sacro illiac joints). I can not walk or sleep without wearing this and both pregnancies were made bearable by the support provided by this brace.
