Solid HDD / SDD docking bay, the more boxy design is much better to handle. Aluminum materials do a much better job drawing heat away from the hard drive while its plugged in vs straight plastic. The power button on this dock acts like a switch and works very well. The LED is bright and you can always tell whats going on. I tried their other HDD dock (DD18U3-US) and that one has a really weak LED. USB-C is a much better plug than USB Type-B 3.0 plug. This is basically a modern solid upgrade from their older original non UASP dock. This dock supports TRIM and UASP so its great for wiping and working on SSDs. Already used this dock to wipe multiple hard drives with no issues.
