These are decent for the price, I feel I got what I paid for. I'm really glad Origin8 offers these shorter 155mm cranks compatible with a road triple 130 bcd setup, and I know they have them for other configurations, too. This helped me fit my wife's road bike where she actually could get comfortable. It came with 170mm cranks on a 44cm road bike, which is absurd in my view. Good for shorter or junior riders, don't hesitate!

I used these in place of some Shimano STX cranks on a mountain bike because the STX chainrings were too short for my riding. The Origin 8 triple crankarms were considerably lighter. These are nice looking crankarms that will accept a wide range of chainrings. Note that you will likely need a 127mm bottom bracket if you have a 68mm wide shell.I like them and would buy them again.Update:I am modifying my review in light of the quality difference in metallurgy between the 165mm Origin 8 triple crank arms I bought two years ago (reviewed above) and the set I bought in 155mm for a Cannondale road bike I was converting to single speed front chainring for a 9 speed setup in April of this year. The 155mm crankset was of such soft aluminum that the drive side crankarm tapered recess wallowed out after just a few miles. I tried re-installing it and it was still loose. I have been using tapered cotterless bottom brackets with aluminum cotterless cranks since the mid 1970's, mostly when I raced, and for decades on. I never had a problem with Campy, Stronglight, TA, Shimano or Sugino crank arms ever working loose. So for it to happen now is disappointing.I tried this Origin 8 in155mm because of the shorter crank arm availability, and excellent experience with the one I installed on my mountain bike.I also had tried a Shimano Zee crankset a couple months before this Origin 8 made in China that was the first Shimano product to thoroughly disappoint me since the mid 1970's, and that was just shifting quality, not poor metallurgy. That Zee crank is a Hollowtech II design, which should be good. I have two bikes with Shimano 105 Hollowtech II cranksets for about 10 years and they have been perfect. But the Zee broke me.The attachment bolts were so soft that one head broke off at less than 8nm. The other one had a mauled head from installation. I bought new bolts of higher quality. They were fine, but then the aluminum of the crank arm was so soft that the spline stripped while only riding at 16mph on the flat, 21 miles into first use. Done with that junk. This brings me to the issue with the second Origin 8 crankset I bought. The problem with it and the new Shimano crank is really low grade and under spec metallurgy.I ditched the Chinese junk and bought two new old stock Sugino cranks. No problems after that. I'm done with cranksets made in RED China. I've had issues with the random quality in Chinese metallurgy, but for Shimano be involved in poor quality Chinese parts. Origin 8 is not surprising, so I'm done with this, or any Chinese made cranksets from any maker.

The allow is so soft I torqued the crank and it wallowed out where the crank ties into the lower bracket. I have filed it I have used LocTite on the the crank screw. It just continues to come loose and now the crank hole is almost round on the inside.

I bought them as I wanted to try short cranks on a high BB SWB recumbent. Good product, look great in silver. Be nice if they also came in black. Very happy with the price and the fact that Origin 8 make them as short cranks in this spec are rare. A knee saver. The Q factor is a few mm more than the FSAs the cranks had to replace. They fit well on the square taper BB but a pity they are not available in Hollowtech. My chainrings fitted beautifully.I initially bought the 145s and used them without the supplied spacers. The shift to the big ring did not work too well. The difference from the original 172.5mm cranks on my Bacchetta was dramatic, good and easy spinning but I missed the torque. I then bought some 155s and used the spacers. Perfect shifting and the perfect compromise between spinning and torque and no more knee issues which was the original reason for the change.

I replaced the stock Fuji 172.5mm crank arms with these 165mm ones in order to avoid pedal strikes and toe overlaps. With a difference of 7mm, I would have to have already crashed before the pedals hit the ground. Toe overlaps can still happen depending on where I put my feet. Changing from 172.5 to 165mm., It felt quite interesting initially. A tiny bit harder, maybe, spins a little faster for sure, it almost felt like riding a fixy. Although subtle, I do prefer less stress on knees.Don't remember the exact numbers, but they weight 100 grams less than my stock fuji crank arms.If you have a crank removal tool with a cap on the end that goes inside the crank, you need to remove that cap. It is for some other types of BB. I spent hours to figure that out and was wondering why it was so hard.

Origin8 make some good stuff and reasonable prices. I use asymmetric sprockets and found that the low plane of the middlesprocket came too close to the fixing hole. This caused to chain to ride up on the end of the spider arm with each pedal revolution. The fix would be a larger middle chainring. This should not be a problem with round chainrings. Origin8 makes crank arms in amultiple of lengths which is a real good thing. I only wish they would make a triple crank in a compact design. The compact designallows for greater variation in chainrings. If you are looking for a 130-74 bcd triple, you can scoop this up with confidence. It's agood quality product.

I do custom builds and when I put together bikes for myself I prefer a smaller crank. This one looks good on the build, is solid in construction and gives that added clearance in turns. It's not the lightest but it was hard to find any other cranks that size. Overall I am happy with it and use it every day!
