This is puppy survival 101. I have a 9 month Doberman who eats EVERYTHING he puts in his mouth. So, if he can destroy it, it had better be edible. These are digestible, long lasting chews that he loves. They do have a smell to them (I've smelled worse) and they tend to get on his nose and fabric surfaces like his bed, but it wipes off pretty easily and it keeps him entertained for hours. They are cost effective especially when you compare them to pizzle/bully sticks which, depending on the thickness, can last 10 minutes to an hour if he is determined. My boy likes to really chew these so I feel comfortable leaving them in his crate, but certainly supervise at first to make sure your pup doesn't try to swallow that last, too big chunk.Update: I've tried other beef cheeks when these were out of stock....I was not impressed. These are individually wrapped and stay fresh. My dog will actually just leave the others and not eat them. These are still the winners!

Some of the reviews... quite a few of them have mentioned that there is a particularly smell associated with these beef cheek chews.. I have not found that to be true my Saint Bernard.. she is on them all day long and there's no odor at all that we can detect... One negative thing I would say is there was a small piece inside of one of them that came out that she didn't Chew... she basically ate and I was concerned about the digestive process but she did not regurgitate it and did not have any digestive issues from it... All in all since this is a muscle not the skin of the cow it is much more healthy and much more digestible and probably the best long-term chew that I have found for my Saint Bernard monster

Yes they smell bad so give them to your dog outside. We have bought them before and they smelled bad too. These are such a high-value treat we save them for special occasions. Our large dog hates having her tail brushed but if she’s eating one of these she doesn’t even notice. We have used them after washing her when we had to leave conditioner on for 5 minutes, we gave her one of these and she quietly ate it, not worrying about anything else. I take them away from her when it gets too small. Also a lot of them have a smaller section that will separate so watch for that. Definitely don’t leave your dog unattended. But at least you know it will break down if they do eat large chunks. Our dog will get through one in about half an hour, but it is still worth it.

These immediately had a different smell (even through the plastic wrapping) than the beef cheek rolls that I purchase individually from a big box pet store. As soon as my dog started chewing one the smell was very strong and terrible. Also, the one that he had did not hold up nearly as long as the ones that I purchase from the local big box pet store. My dog is a 70 lb Bernedoodle that is a medium to heavy chewer. The ones that I purchase locally last him for over a week, sometimes two weeks. The one from the shipment he chewed up in a matter of an evening and I took it away. Also, it made him very sick. I did not give him any more and went back to the individually purchased local beef cheek rolls. No smell whatsoever, they last much longer, and don't make him sick.

Our dog loves these cheek rolls. They are much better for her than regular rawhide bones. They are easier to digest and don't have as much of tendency to break off into large pieces that she can choke on. When she chews them they come apart into very small pieces. They last about as long as a regular rawhide bone. They are a bit smelly when wet, but not to the point of being problematic.

I like this product for my dogs, with the understanding that this product is softer(easily broken down) after it is consumed and in the digestion process ...compared to regular rawhide products,The smell is a little intense but my dogs love it, ...it IS more about them. Not only that, the intense smell is testament to how much the hide is more on the natural side than adulterated with bleach, an abundant amount of salt and such to mask the smell. And .....another plus is that they are thicker than most comparable products.
