These are pretty much the same tool you would get at a parts house or Harbor Freight. This includes adapters for 134a also which is a big cost saver. The hoses are not cheap looking. The gauges are easy to read, as in the marks and numbers are easy to read. This is not a professional set but for the shade tree mechanic these are a good choice.

I've used this on many cars now to do an AC charge. Works great. Just pay attention to the dials as the band that looks like it would be r134a is not.I also picked up a set of r134a adapters which fit in this case as well which is great.

Unit hoses did not connect to either high or low side. Each time trying connect the hoses caused the refrigerator to leak out. Save your time and look at other units!!!

The kit is great for DIY people. However, once the high side is disconnected, there still remains180 or so psi. of refrigerant in the red hose.Ideally, this residual refrigerant would be purged under vacuum back into a tank. But, slowly opening the gauge's high side valve will release the pressure.Open the valve too quickly and someone could be injured, especially ifdirected faceward.Anyways, when a vehicle is in an accident, perhaps refrigerant is released into theatmosphere as well. So, think about the environment, and drive slowly.

Bought this for my husband. He said it’s pretty good quality and works for what he needs it for. Price was reasonable.

I had the unfortunate experience of the AC compressor locking up on my 2018 Tacoma with only 60,000km. A slow refrigerant leak leading to loss of compressor (refrigerant carries the oil, no refrigerant, no oil).I already have a manifold set and vacuum pump for R134 stuff, but needed R1234yf for the Toyota. Threw me off for a minute until I realized the can tap is reverse threaded so people don't mix up the different refrigerant's...even though both off the shelf gasses are propane, what ever...if you are not spending over $150 per can of refrigerant, then you are buying propane, and not the authentic stuff.Gauge set worked great, hoses all connected great, no leaks, gets the job done.

I figured for this price I would get a mediocre set of refrigeration gauges and low quality quick disconnects and hoses. I was pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong. The quick disconnects that come in this kit are fantastic quality the gauge set is also very well-made, there is a nipple on each side to attach the quick disconnect so the hoses can be kept up out of the way. The hoses appeared to be made of good quality rubber that should last a long time. The only negative I could give this set is the quality of the storage case. I would not be disappointed if the case broke on me in six months or so because of the quality of the rest of the set.
