I've been using this doing maintenance on Robinson, Bell and Airbus helicopters for the past month and it handles very well .020 to .040 wires (I haven't tried thicker yet, but I would avoid .040 and higher on 6 inch pliers anyway to be honest). The pliers are resistant, smooth to operate and aren't hard to manipulate and activate with my tiny hands. The grip pattern is criss-cross so it holds very well, though keep in mind that does damage the wire.I wish they were reversible as I had to finish my pig tails manually when I couldn't help it but, for the price, I don't really mind.Remember kids, if you need to unwind your lockwire you need to start over.> Will update if and when they break.

Use these safety wire pliers working on dirt bikes. Did not require a top end tool for my limited number of jobs. This wire plier seems well made and high quality. Much better than the Chinese pliers I have tried. This tool is made in Tiawan and the quality shows. The jaws lock nicely, and spring return is perfect. If you want a good quality tool at reasonable price, try this one out. Definitely a thumbs up.

MUCH better quality than all the ones you see at half the price. Comparable to the ones I used on F16's every day for years in the USAF. Small though. These are a 6" pliers. Worked very well with . 40" wire. The extra bit spent on these was worth the improvement over the cheapo ones for sure.

I used safety wire pliers for aircraft maintenance in the Air Force and they were larger and more versatile. This product is good for craft projects that only use small gauge wire. The pliers are rugged and good quality, but most operations are a two-handed process--especially latching the jaws to secure the wire.

They work well for all your safety wire twisting needs. My one complaint is it's sometimes a bit hard to make the lock engage, you gotta give them a good squeeze and it's a bit awkward to push the thing forward. But otherwise they're a solid build and will last forever. Nice and slim for reaching into tiny spaces, too.
