Your cart is empty.The OTC 8342 includes a holder and five sanding discs. Sanding pads attach with half turn thread and will fit standard power drills to quickly sand rust off lug studs and rotors on the hub assembly. For most domestic and import vehicles with either front or rear disc brakes. Run at speeds of 10,000 rpm or less for best results. (Do not exceed 10,000 rpm.)

This really worked. I was skeptical but saw it used on a YouTube channel I subscribe to and gave it a try. I replaced some rotors and this did a great job getting the rust off the hubs especially around the lug nuts as it fit right over them. Just place on your cordless drill and go to town.

The abrasive disk is highly abrasive and will scratch iron easily. Be careful. My only issue is it’s not long enough for long wheel studs. Will work just fine with around normal studs

It only takes a couple of minutes to clean the area around the brake rotor/drum studs to remove the rust. If used properly, one unit will last to work in more than one vehicle. This is a very effective device. Nice, very nice!

I have been doing DIY brake jobs all my adult life. I recently saw a YouTube video on the importance of cleaning the hub before mounting a replacement disk on the hub. I could not find something at any of the local auto parts stores, so ordered these. Worked great on a 2015 Honda CR-V with 90K mikes. They are meant to clean the area directly around the wheel stud, but you can use it to clean the entire hub. Will now be adding this to my brake servicing routine.

I purchased this item for a brake and rotor job for a 2018 highlander and realized from the brake job this is a must own for the surface of the hub. a quick lesson I learned from a Vietnam vet wash your car days after the snow fall to get some of that road salt off. this was a first for me seeing this much rust on such a young car and I used the scotch Brite hub tool to clean of the rust around the lugs and the hub with a wire brush it was cleaned up. next anti seize compound use on the hub to prevent the rotor to rust and seize up.
