I bought the item because I can’t get my 120 hp Mercury Force outboard motor to fire. This didn’t fix my problem but it did fit just like the original parts.

After replacing the original coils After 20 years the engine ran great for about 1/2 hour. As you can tell by the picture the plug wire on two blew apart . I don't know what would cause this except poor quality.

I usually don't write reviews but I felt like it is simply the right thing to do for this coil. I bought 3 of these to go on my 1998 Mercury outboard 90 hp ELPTO and they work great. I was honestly skeptical about buying these because every boater know the misery of breaking down on the lake but I'm glad I took the gamble on these. The OEM coils were4 times expensive as these so I figured it wouldn't hurt to try them out. I bought these because my boat motor was hard to start and I noticed the boot on the plug wires was deteriorating. These new coils fixed the problem for sure. Boat starts at the first turn of the key now. I'm very grateful

Bolted right on in the factory location. The engine ran really good with a fresh set of plugs. The factory coils lasted over 20 years. Time will tell with these. So far no complaints.
