The prop guard showed up as promised and looked real good, but it was brittle and broke the first time on the water. Needless to say I will NOT be replacing it with another one like this. I sent the broken pieces back and got a refund so 5 stars to the seller for that.

Got sucked into my prop under full load (40hp) and trashed my prop. Had to break the guard off and change the prop in the middle of the lake

This is literally the best kicker guard I’ve ever had. Pull a 180° slam the lines and rigger cable into it and have no fear. Nobody of the 6 boats has had a flasher go through it either. Use all the mounting bolts. One broke cuz he mounted it without putting any through the slag and when he left the kicker down and took off after about 15 minutes and some heavy 10’ seas it tore off. Operator error 100% not a defect. I just wish it was not such an obtrusive colour. Please make them in black or some dark colour. They work great and have significantly improved the steering on our 30’ jet boats. Helps a little when the prop comes outta the water on big waves too. Keeps more water surrounding it. Works great on the back troll too. Make some black ones please. Have already reordered spares. They survive dock bumps better than the stainless ones too. Obviously not crash proof but withstand a harder hit without breaking or bending.

The product cracked after 4 trips on the water. However, the seller immediately provided a full refund to purchase another one if I desire. Unmatched customer service!!

This work well, and I don't expect to run over or through any fish or people, but it seems to me there should be some kind of thin grid covering the front/back of this thing so the propeller cannot be accessed or touched. Granted most harm would come from front to back rather than back to front, but I just thought there should be something there, and it would really do much to affect the propulsion.

I bought the yellow prop safety guard. The main description indicated it fits 5-20 hp ouboards. This should be changed to align with what the manufacture indicates. One review states he did fit it on a 5 hp motor. Not sure how he did that but I would not recommend. I can say this guard is built very well and should stand up to a good amount of abuse, just make sure you are putting it on a 9.9 - 15 hp motor.

All my engines are 2020 and newer models. The yellow guard worked well on the Honda 15hp and 9.9hp (just barely). It also fit the Yamaha 15hp well. But it was way to big for my Honda 5hp engines. If I had installed it on the engine the prop would hit the guard. The Blue guard fit the Honda 50hp and the Red guard fit the Honda 90 well also.

Is well made but the required mounting was not going to work for me. The instructions show you must drill holes in the flange on your outboard. I have a new Mercury 50hp outboard and this flange is extremely thin. I am concerned that if we hit something the flange would break on the motor which could be very costly. This cage looks like it might protect the prop, the question is whether the prop would damage the cage or vise-versa. If the cage was designed to wrap around the entire lower section, it would eliminate the concern for flange breakage.
