My nine-year-old granddaughter is into making things from the clay and she wanted to toolset I did not want to buy her one of the great big ones that she would lose parts too because she never remembers where she put stop or she walked away with something in her hand and then loses it I bought her the smaller set and didn't tell her that there was a bigger one available ha ha. So she is very satisfied with his tool set on her white and brown clay that she makes flowers and animals figurines out of.

My son(9) loved these for crafting with clay but a couple of them have broken. I think they would be great for an older child or adult or a gentler kid. I like that there is a wide variety of tools to choose from. Nice product just not for my rough kid.

You aren't going to do fine sculpting with these. But, if you have a six year old that has declared that she's the next Nerdy Crafter or Mariah Elizabeth, and she's got her hands on a pile of assorted doughs and clays, these are perfect. Easy for her to handle, sturdy enough to hold up to her, assorted shapes and tips to experiment with, and unfortunately pointy enough to drill a hole through a brand-new pair of leggings. Two holes, honestly.This is a good addition to any clay for a younger kid. At 12 or so they'll likely want thinner and more grown-up tools, but for elementary, these are excellent.

We bought this for my 5 year old. They are light weight and nice a colourful but after using them some of the heads of the tools came off. Some got stuck in the clay. Good for one time buy. Won’t buy it again tough.

I wanted these light weight tools to do art projects with the grandkids, but they break easily in transport or at least mine did!

Using with polymer clay as well as some talc clay. Good beginning tools or for kids to use. These seem to be fine for occasional use and I personally like the feel of the tools in my hand. Will undoubtedly purchase again.

Some of the tools are flimsy and pop out extremely easily. After some regular use, the 'shell' attachment broke off, and some of the dotting tools seem to dislike staying within their plastic casing, and pop out with little provocation, though they pop right back in easily. If you intend to buy a basic 'starter kit' for clay tooling and are weighing your options, this is a decent option.I'm especially fond of the needle tools (they're sturdy), the 'spatula' like tool for blending liquid clay and solid clay colors, and the dotting tools, even with their frail tendencies.9/22/17 EDIT: I was contacted by the seller and offered a replacement set for the tools that had broken. I tested all of the new tools to see if they would as easily pop out of their plastic casing, but they remained in place (although not without some wiggling). The second set is satisfactory and seems much more durable than the first.

I purchased this set of 10 clay tools for my young son who spends hours making his own Pokemon characters with Polymer Clay and he was delighted with them, stating they had a good range of uses and felt like they were made to last and very good quality plastic. I would highly recommend these, not just for beginners either.
