I bought this guitar because I had one very similar about 10 years ago. I like the cut-away body and the rounded back, and the fact that it can be plugged in to an amp. One of the main attractions for me was the built-in tuner. I have tried and tried to justify using the built-in tuner, but it’s REALLY bad. Honestly I wish I had chosen a different guitar, because the value for the money isn’t that great. I just missed the return window or I definitely would have returned this purchase.

The guitar itself is good, not great but good. It played well with a low action and good tone.On a side note the delivery driver threw the guitar over the fence of my home and it was left out for a day and a half in the rain. Because of this the guitar was scratched and I ended up returning it.Would I buy an ovation again...probably not...I’m not a fan of the molded plastic back. There are much better low cost guitars that play and sound like higher end instruments.

During this odd era of spending so much time at home, I decided to teach myself guitar. This pick for my first guitar was tough. Now... before get into this review I need to say that I don't spout too long about the Lava 2 guitar. I got this one and the lava 2 carbon fiber guitar. Here's the page on the other one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RYM3ZMC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I Loved the size of the Lava and the slick feel of it. I loved the pre-installed amplifier that produced chorus and reverb all powered by an on-board rechargeable battery. The size of this guitar was 36 inches and felt like the "just right" size to learn on. Iater decided to keep both of them. I just couldn't not Love this guitar. ABOUT THE OVATION... I also found out that I could and did purchase this add on item to give my ovation "free boost" functionality of the lava 2 with this really neat amplifier... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W3K92ZM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1I used on headphones or on a portable logitech speaker can plug into. A stupid amount of sounds that make you sound really kool. Anyway... I really like the warm of this guitar. Great low tone to it and no tinny sound. The buit in tuner will get you close but I was still out of tune. So after a lot of reading and returns, I settled and got happy with this tunner... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X4JJV1Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 In the end I'm very happy with guitar at this early stage.

I was worried that it would get damaged during shipping but the box was well made and thankfully it did not get banged around at all. The guitar was in perfect shape upon arrival not a scratch anywhere. It plays and sounds very nice. I have no complaints at all.

Havent played in over 10 years. Was pleasantly surprised when the guitar arrived 2 weeks ahead of schedule. No damage to it at all.I let it sit and acclimate for a work day before initially tuning it. Had it shipped to Japan where I'm stationed. Tune holds fairly well and will get better as I keep it tuned as it settles into its form. Played it this morning. Has great action, intonation on the low E and D string fluctuate a little. High E and B string were spot on.Has a clean crisp sound with the maple top. Stunning color. The mid depth bowl is not at all uncomfortable and feels more like a little but larger than a hollow body electric. The neck is great I dont have any spots where I get hung up at all. It's a little thicker than my electric that I had starting out but not much. For the sound and quality, with an electric stage ready acoustic you cant beat the price. Would highly recommend. If you have not tried an ovation play it side by side with a traditional acoustic and an traditional electric you find the sound is a bit in the middle of both, would argue it has a brightness to it over the traditional electric, and the feel in you hand and their set up is wonderful.

I love this guitar so much. It's tone is so nice and the design is beautiful. It is very easy to play. My only issue is i wasn't expecting it to be so big! I didn't know it was a DEEP BOWL guitar. Maybe that's just my oversight but I don't recall seeing that in the description. So just be aware when it comes to ordering a form fit case for it. Luckily i keep mine in a bag.

Absolutely love this guitar. I’ve been playing for a while but this is truly my first acoustic. I first played this when deployed overseas as the USO had a room with several guitars. It’s body shape makes the sound unique but in a good way. It’s very comfortable to play and frets feel very good.
