Great hooks. I love the added weight to the hooks. Very seedless way to fish all sorts of creature baits.I will say that tying the hook on is a pain in the butt cause the spring shaped worm retainer interferes with tying your knot. You have to be careful not to foul your knot with it.

This has to be one of the best hooks I’ve used for plastics. The spiral works on most worms, not just the latest and greatest. When installed properly, I’ve actually had fish chew pieces of the worms off before it even slipped a mm off of the locking mechanism. Great design.

Makes soft plastic fishing better. You don't tear baits when you catch a fish or jerk and miss one. You have to be careful when using these because you usually don't get the Tap Tap as Texas rigged. The fish just gulps it and if he doesn't move you might not realize he has it in his mouth. Slides through weeds and moss without catching a bunch of it. Used a 1/4 oz. 5/0 yesterday. Think I will go back to the 1/6 oz for a better feel and less grass catching. Caught 8 bass yesterday and all but one time I didn't realize I had a fish on. I use a Palamore knot and put tape around the wire screw device to make tying easier. It tends to get in the way when tying the knot.

If your river fishing these are hands down the best weighted hooks. All other hooks I've tried snag easy. This is the only weighted hook I've found that has a smooth taper for the weight and rarely gets snagged. Easily worth the extra cash!

Yamamoto Swimming Senkos and Senkos are my go-to soft plastic for largemouth and this hook is perfect for these baits, as indicated by the "DESIGNED BY GARY YAMAMOTO" sticker on the package. These hooks are excellent for chucking Senkos with any amount of wind (for when you want them weightless but can't) and give them a wacky-rigged wiggle when they fall, thanks to the genius placement of the shank weight. But where these hooks really excel for me is when fishing Swimming Senkos. I tie a Kreh Loop knot to the hook which lets me jerk and twitch the bait along until I find a hole or pass to let the Swim Senko fall. If there's a bass in the grass, it's almost guaranteed that he'll strike. Just like with the Senko, the Swim Senko gets a perfect shimmy on the fall. These are also ideal for flukes, at least for me anyway. The 3/32 oz is the right balance for me to feel the weight of the bait yet still get the glide (re:No Helicoptering) I'm looking for. The range is in between 1/16 and 1/8 oz, something I call my "Goldilocks Zone" - light enough for proper presentation and heavy enough for wind and water depth. Most people swear by the Owner 3/0 1/16oz hooks, but I found that (for me) the hooks were to small sometimes to properly set. The 5/0 1/8oz hooks are good for when I want to just use Swim Senkos, but I didn't like the weight placement for when I needed to switch baits.Simply put, this hook is perfect for a variety of baits when fishing 1-5 feet of water and perfectly compliments the Senko-style baits. The Owner Twist Lock is also a must-have for fishing these 3 baits since they prolong the life of your lures. By only screwing in your bait up half the length of the Twist Lock, you can double the amount of fish you can catch on a Senko by screwing it up the full amount after a fish mangles it. If you use the 5 inch or longer baits, you can bite a quarter inch of the head and do this trick again. I don't have to buy nearly as many (Swim) Senkos now.I can't go back to anything else.I use this hook/bait setup on a 7 foot graphite Medium-Fast rod, 3000 reel, 10lb Hi-Vis Yellow Power Pro and 20-30lb Seagur Blue Label Flurocarbon for fishing freshwater for largemouth and for saltwater flats fishing (the 1x strength rating isn't a concern with proper drag setting).

Owner hooks are consistently the best I've ever used for largemouth bass fishing in terms of utility of design and quality of materials. The points retain sharpness for an incredible number of catches under harsh conditions, the way the weight is molded to the shank avoids snagging in and around cover, and the twist lock keeps plastic lures at the eye without slippage.
