The only instructions were on the can itself is lettering your needed a microscope to read. Plus they were the same for the Base coat and the Clear coat. Lastly, they were insufficient, unless you were a professional.Paint was ok.

The color was a couple of shades off and the clear coat lifted the base coat in a couple of places. I had to take it down and start over with another product. Others may have a better outcome than I did as there are so many variables that can screw you up. You know; humidity, temperature, surface prep, and primer or body filler used. I didn't read anywhere what the make up of the product was. So a little guessing was involved and I am NOT a painter.

My Yamaha motor cover got damaged in hurricane Ian. I repaired it with fiberglass and scratch filler and then painted it with Yahama factory touch up spray. It did a terrible job because the spray pattern is too narrow. That’s a shame because the color match is very good. This paint is slightly darker meaning you have to repaint the whole cover to overcome the imperfect color match but it is worth it. The base coat appears matte but once you spray the clear coat, it’s gorgeous, better than new.

I applied the color coat in 10 minute intervals, followed by clear coat after 1 hour. I had a small run in the clear coat, so I waited a day to let it dry. Next day, I applied clear coat, and the finish wrinkled. Since then I have stripped the area of the run completely, and dried building up color again. Now the edges of the sanded area is wrinkling. Seems you must get this perfectly the first time or its all over. Also - Barely enough color to do a 15HP outboard cowling in one can. I bought a second kit (now I’m $90.00 in), and the new can sprays all silver, then a little blue, then dries very quickly with bubbles. See photo.Calling tech support now. I’ll see how it goes, but I’m thinking I may need to strip the whole thing and start over.UPDATE: The company was very supportive and sent me replacement color and clear coat. They suggested that I wait one week and then resand and apply color again. I waited three weeks to make sure it dried. I then sanded the entire surface thoroughly and made sure there was absolutely no gloss areas and that they entire surface was dry and clean. First coat of color - the finish wrinkled in three spots. This is a clearly one-chance finish with very high sensitivity. I cannot recommend this with the experience I’ve had - especially after painting cars and other items successfully for many years.UPDATE: TO resolve the issues above I completely stripped all paint down to the fiberglass level. I applied Duplicolor Primer/Filler and let that dry overnight. The next day I applied 2 coats of color followed by 4 coats of clear coat - 10 minutes between color coats, 30 minute wait time, then 4 coats of clear at 10 minute intervals. Finish turned out beautiful: deep color depth and a brilliant gloss. If you’re going to use this product follow the instructions EXPLICITLY. Do not sand any runs between coats, and wait at least a week or more before attempting any repair activity.

This kit met every expectation and was perfect for getting the job done to touch up my outboard motor on my boat. It now looks brand new.
