Symptoms Of A Failing Wheel Bearing & Hub
Wheel hub units are low maintenance parts, but that doesn’t mean they last forever. Uneven road surfaces, heavy driving conditions (such as towing or racing), and under-inflated tires put extra strain on the hub bearing and can lead to premature failure. Common signs of a bad hub unit include:
- 1. ABS system malfunction
- 2. Excessive play in the steering wheel
- 3. A humming, rumbling or growling noise that increases with acceleration
- 4. A loud constant whining or grinding noise when the vehicle is in motion
- 5. Steering wheel vibration that changes with the vehicle speed or as the vehicle turns
Installation Tips:
- Use an Axle Nut Socket to dismantle the axle nut
- After dismantling the brake caliper, suspend it using a Caliper Hanger to avoid damage to the brake hose.
- A wheel hub removal tool can help dismantle a stubborn wheel hub assembly from the knuckle
- During installation, use a Torque Wrench to tighten the axle nut to the manufacturer's specification. Do not use an impact wrench as it is easy to over tighten the axle nut.

My step son was ready to pay $700 to have his front wheel bearings replaced at a local repair shop. This pair of bearings were a bargain. If you have the tools and the knowledge to make this type of repair at home, you can save big! He has about 2500 miles on this repair and no issues to report.

Listen, if you’re on a budget and your bearings are getting unsafe and noisy and you don’t have $4-500 to spend on certified parts and labor this is what you need. At a fraction of the cost these quieted down my vehicle and feels brand new again.The tire pressure sensor I was worried wouldn’t fit in or have the place to fit it but it did. The parts at my local auto parts store was $180 plus tax…Nissan had one for about the same price so I was skeptical of buying Chinese auto parts.They’re still quite new so I’ll update this review if they go out too soon. For a quicker and much cheaper fix, especially for a DIY job you can’t beat it. Bearing is smooth, no sound, my highway gas mileage is back up to around 19-20 mpg.Can’t and won’t complain until it gives me a reason not to. Installed myself very easily with the proper tools.

Original review is posted very bottom, but here is my updated review that has been changed to 1 star:These are China bombs. They lasted a grand total of 1,110 miles and only two and a half months of use of mostly highway miles. Not only am I out the price of these bearings, but the time it took out of my day and cost to replace them, along with now having to find another replacement pair. So expect to be out ~$200 if you purchase these, on top of the cost of new bearings and another repair bill. Save your time and frustration, and buy some better bearings otherwise you'll just be swapping these out a few times a year. NOT happy!Original review:Replaced my screaming front wheel bearings on my 2009 Altima SE with 3.5 engine and CVT, these hubs fit without a problem. Now I have a very nice quiet ride once again. I'm sure these are China bearings so I don't expect them to last 100KMI, but if I can get a few years out of them, I'll be happy.
