These struts were perfect for a wooden shelf/box I made to put on the wall to store my handgun. This made it easy to access but also held the door up to conceal my weapon. These are very easy to install. The metal is quality material and should hold up well. For what it is intended, the plastic should hold up as well. I wouldn’t put any extra weight on the door though.

Super easy to install, measurements were accurate. This is the perfect thing to modify the door opening on an old wood filing cabinet. Take apart the filing assembly and turn the wooden drawer front into a drop-down door! These worked great! Just make sure you buy the right hinges separately.

This is not a charged shock. It is only a dampner shock so it does not push nor pull in any direction it simply slows and smooths movement of whatever you attach too. I did expect it to be like a toolbox type that pushes open. However that is on me for not looking into it too deep. This is still a good quality product and was able to make it work for my toolbox. Overall it is a decent shock and a good deal.

Cheap and poorly built. Easy to install, but far from a fluid motion. About halfway down is when you run into the resistance it should have for the entirety of the stroke. Just by holding it, you can tell it doesn't weigh enough to be a quality product. Functions about half as good as you want it to. Will fit, but will also make whatever you're opening feel cheap

Read this for sure. This is a nice little set of gas gas shocks but they are for a drop down cabinet. I somehow missed that. We will put them to good use at home. Not what we needed for our travel trailer. Lots of plastic but they function well.

These struts perform as promised.Be aware of what It says it in the "tips" bullet point:"Tips: This gas spring is specifically designed for drop-down flaps..."Don't think of using these for any other application - you'll be disappointed. They are light duty, only suited for the purpose described in the product description.

These struts are better suited for a cabinet door instead of a tool box lid. They are not as heavily constructed as my current tool box struts. However, they worked for a lift cabinet door our garage.
