Lens is extremely well built and functions like ehat it is, a cerified leica lens but built by lumix. . Downside? It's super heavy.

I've been using this lens for over a year now, so I've had plenty of time to gather an opinion. The 70-200 2.8 lens has been a dream lens for me since I started practicing photography. With this lens I've shot cheerleading competitions, volleyball games, portraits, weddings, theatre performances and personal stuff. If you plan to buy an 85 and a 135, you may as well just skip that and buy this lens. Sure, it's a a 2.8 and not a 1.2, but 2.8 is plenty for most situations, even dark gymnasiums for sports. Wide open this lens is very sharp and the colour and contrast is gorgeous. Zoom into 200 and this is a bokeh beast. It's also built like a tank, but the downside is that it's very heavy, heavier than the Canon and Sony alternatives I think. This is one of those holy trinity lenses, the other two being the 24-70 and the 16-35.

Best design for a 70 200 lens in my opinion. Great build quality, good image quality and feels much better than other companies’ 70200 when you have it in hand. However, it is too heavy to hold it with hand for longer time. My suggestion is wait for the second gen to buy or use the F4 Version.
