These pasta cutting tools are lightweight and a little flimsy, but unless you're making tons of ravioli on the regular, they'll be fine. They are stainless steel with wood handles, and because of the wood, are hand wash only. They make a great addition to the pasta attachment on my stand mixer, although they could also be used with traditional hand-rolled pasta dough as well. The set includes:1. Two ravioli cutters, one round and one square, with serrated edges2. A ruffled-edge rotary wheel cutter3. A smooth round dumpling cutter (think cookie cutter)4. A ruffled-edge fold-over dumpling maker5. A small stainless rolling pin (about 10 inches long and an inch in diameter)6. A 24"x16" dough mat with measurements and markingsAll in all, this is really all you need to make a variety of pastas, from lasagna noodles to ravioli, as well as dumplings and pierogis. I love this kit, although I've only used it once. Once you get the hang of it, it's easy to make delicious fresh pasta. And once you've had fresh pasta, you'll be so spoiled that you'll never want boxed pasta again!

I've had a couple of those silicone mats to roll out pasta on and they always arrive with slices in them or rip. This one is sturdier and better quality.I LOVE the stainless-steel dowel/rolling pin. This thing rolls out say pizza crust like nobody's business. I can take a big silicone or marble rolling pin and the dough barely budges. This guy rolls it out to as thin as I need. This right here is a keeper. There is a clam-like device to make small empanadas in. I prefer this stainless-steel over the plastic one I own. I'm still not good though at empanadas. The ravioli cutters aren't tall enough to get a good cut through the dough. I may have to toss them if I can't get them to work. But I'm so happy with the rest of the kit, I'm okay.

I've never before considered making my own Ravioli, because I thought it would just be too much work. I figured some good tools might make that concern go away. This set isn't the solution for me.The cutters are dull, so they do not actually cut the dough but more just smush it down to 'really thin', so it can be torn out. The circular ring is rather flimsy and arrived bent because it was packed with the press mold shoved inside it. The manufacturer's packaging could be a little better. And the rolling pin came with a VERY minor ding, not an issue to be concerned about, but still indicative of a need for better packaging. I was able to straighten the ring, so it can be used as intended, but it should be made of a little heavier gauge steel.Mostly, the cutters should be sharp enough to actually cut dough, not just smash it thin.

I have various pasta making tools. The common denominator amongst them is that they are very thick and heavy. Because of this, they are able to withstand the pressure that will be exerted on them. Immediately I questioned the durability of this set since they are so much lighter than other pieces I have. To me, these come across as a cheap knock-off what a real nonna would use. They just don't have the same feel in my hand...Although at nearly $30 it isn't that cheap for a knock-off!

I have been wanting to get a something that would help me make pierogi. My kids and I love pierogi but it is just so much work.5 hours of work yields about 3 dozen which are gone in just a couple days.I was so excited for these to finally arrive. I opened the box and was a little disappointed to see how thin the tools are. The rolling pin is also just as it looks - a metal tube. The tool for pierogi looks like they will provide a smaller wrap. Its ok, I can make smaller ones but any time I save by using these tools may be lost by creating more because they are smaller. I am hoping these will hold up to repeated use.

This is a cool set with all you can expect to need for making filled pastas. It mostly works and you can get good results with a little finagling but I expected them to be a bit weightier, to really get into the dough. It’s something I’ll use rarely but it does what I wanted it to.
