My cat loves this cat house. I wound up altering the levels a bit because my cat is old and can't jump down on a steep angle and a little chubby so I knew she wouldn't be comfortable trying to get through the holes but once I did that, she took to it right away. It's constructed well and is sturdy. No fear of it tipping over at all. I painted it to match my patio that's why it looks different in the photos.

It was relatively easy to put together BUT one of the parts was missing which is bad.The floors of each of the platforms are not intended to be secured down, which is terrible. They fall/cave in when a larger cat bounds on top of them. This is dangerous. You will need to have a drill to drill pilot holes in the platform or floor pieces to secure them to the bases. If you don't use pilot holes the wood splits and becomes useless.Even though I read the dimensions, the compartments are quite low/short, it would be great if they were at least 2 or 3 inches taller as this seems to be intended for kittens and not full grown cats. So, that is a bummer as well.

Cats love it! Just beware this CANNOT go outside unless you are willing to take the extra steps to water proof it. We use it indoors, and it’s perfect.

Beautiful outdoor cat house. We have a big, fenced in backyard. There is not much for them to do. So they got one more cat house for them to enjoy. And they love it. It was easy to set up, didn’t even ask my husband for help. Only thing I will do, I will put it on platform, since we are in Florida and first level might get sunken when we have big rain storms.

The instructions were not great. Combine that with some of our parts being cut wrong and it made assembly pretty challenging. Really really look at the pictures because some of the pieces can be put together backwards and then you'll have to take it back apart again. The first couple of steps were the hardest due to the pieces being able to fit together multiple ways and the directions being very non specific. If you are careful, look at the drawings closely and pay attention to the details it goes pretty smoothly. It took my wife and I about an hour to put it together. I would recommend using a hand screwdriver and not a drill. This wood would be easy to strip. It is very light. It seems relatively sturdy and I really like the shingle roof. I wish we didn't have to put screws through it but it is what it is. I did find it easier to put the screws partially through the roof before hand because the holes are difficult to see. The last warning is to not assume the pieces are cut correctly. We had 3 pieces that were not built correctly. They had holes on the wrong side of the board . So don't be surprised if you have to adapt when you are putting it together. That's what we chose but I guess we could have asked for replacement pieces. We just wanted to get it together and didn't want the space all cluttered up while we were waiting. Good luck but I do believe you will like the end product. It turns out pretty nice

This outdoor wooden cat house is mostly good... I didn't have any significant issues assembling it as other reviewers have noted - though it's important to read the instructions for proper assembly as I almost thought I needed to redrill some holes but checked the instructions and realized the holes were not actually misaligned, I just needed to attach the pieces differently than I thought. So I was able to assemble the whole thing by myself, with the screws included and a screwdriver, that's it - though it did take a few hours. It should be noted that for those who want to use it outdoors, it is definitely safer to apply varnish/waterproofing wax to it as others have recommended, as the painted wood doesn't look and feel like it's of the highest quality and I expect if left outdoors with rain/snow it would start damaging pretty quickly. The overall frame and structure are quite sturdy and doesn't wobble, which is great. The wide base seems like it will easily hold up well over time with the weight of our cats. However, some of the pieces are VERY CHEAPLY made... The little step is made of super thin wood that's only attached by tiny nails that look like staples, and before I even attempted to screw it in 2/3 of the skinny panels spontaneously lifted right off the frame, so I tried pushing them back into the nails and one of the wood pieces snapped in half - so I am glad I didn't put it on as my heavier, large breed, male cat probably would've jumped on it and busted right through the panel. It is fine without the step - if not better and more accessible - but still. Also, the top, insertable panels with access holes in them on the very top platform and bottom platform have 3 issues: 1) The holes are VERY small; they are only large enough for smaller, petite cats; my female can use them, but my long-haired, 17lb, male forest cat is definitely too big to use them - he can only (barely) go through the door to the middle house/cubby - so I will have to somehow expand the holes to allow him to use them. 2) The panels are removable, so they are not actually attached/secured in place... this does have some benefits for cleaning, easy human access, and storage, but they make noise when the cats hop on them, and it makes them resistant to hop on any of them. Also, due to them not being secured, my cats won't even attempt to use them to hop up to the level above; they tried once, and the panel lifted with them and obviously spooked them... so they are going to have to be secured somehow with nails or a heavy bonding agent. The panels also are quite thin and I am really hoping they don't end up snapping on me after extended use.I will do several DIY things to make this cat house more secure and accessible for my cats, including adding 1 or 2 more platforms for them on the top and middle. It is pretty well made for a cat house and for the cost, so you don't get a product of as high quality as you would in a higher price range, but it's more sturdy than standard towers.

The wood is thin and this is the third request made to replace a broken part. Unable to assemble. Found a piece of the product broken. Requested a replacement of just that part and got another broken part…..waiting….waiting. Maybe I’ll get it assembled on day.

Very hard to put together (had to give up and grab the power drill) - producer only drilled holes in certain parts - not the matching hole in the other part - this was for EVERYTHING. Can't get to be completely square so base boards fit properly. In several areas, wood chunks were already coming off, broke off and look bad. Some screws won't go in all the way. Horrible smell (even used an air purifier in the room, but still hasn't dissipated). Save your self time and frustration - save up some extra money and get the more expensive version by a different brand (I have 1 of each) - the other brand might cost more, but the smell leaves when the box leaves the room, it is square, easy to put together with very good instructions. The top area (penthouse) with roof on the pricer version is much better too (and not as much to put together yourself. It's worth the extra money for the other version.
