The threads were very bad and it seems like it was taped at an angle.

The test fitting seemed to be of good quality at first glance but during the first use, it blew apart at approximately 1,200 psi while testing a hydraulic system. The description lists compatible codes that would indicate this fitting to be rated to test systems up to 5,800 psi. As photos show, the thread portion of the fitting where the failure occurred was paper thin and obviously of poor working quality. It was only made to cosmetically look functional.
