I bought this to mate with the companion mount. Together they work great to lift a 16 inch kick drum up. This system is well built. Overkill for the cheap kick it’s installed on but it allows for the beater to hit in the center. With a new high quality batter head this rocks. Nice pearl gear even worked with a non pearl drum.

Product was great. Learned about it from an RDAVIDR YouTube video. It’s made for turning a Pearl floor tom into a bass drum. But I used it for an acoustic to electric (A2E) conversion of a kids drum set 16” bass drum into a bass drum for an eKit. Worked great!

As other reviewers mentioned you must buy an additional mount to fully covert a floor tom to a kick. It mentions that in the product description but a lot of the negative reviews are from people who did not thoroughly read the product description and were angry when they had to purchase an additional part. I ordered both this kit and the tom mount for a total of around $55 here on amazon. Both arrived the same day and I was able to convert my 16”x16” floor tom to a solid kick in about 5 minutes. Most people who do this conversion with recommend an Evans EMAD head to get more of an authentic kick tone, which I intend on doing down the line. For now, I padded mine with a blanket folded in the bottom of the drum, touching the batter head but not the reso head. This alone, with proper tuning gives a really punchy deep kick tone. Couldn’t be happier.

Ideal for a busking kit or a small venue kit. You do have to buy another mount to complete this kit though.

Great piece of hardware to convert a floor tom into a bass drum. I've used this on 14" and 16" toms. No issues. Solid and well built. You will need a "Pearl ISS1216" drum hoop mount to attach to this base plate. I took off the leg memory locks as I didn't see a use for them in this situation. I always put a small pillow in the tom to deaden the sound. Turned out better than expected.

El producto es muy bueno, el herraje es impecable, sin embargo las “patas” que vienen carecen de punta y altura para que llegue al piso sin problema y se sujete y no resbale en una superficie con alfombra... hay que invertir en patas o mandar hacer unas largas porque estás no sostienen el tom de piso y hay que “corretearlo” al golpearlo con el pedal

I 've received this thing today which is fine but the problem is, it's a set of 4 things those are, 2 spurs and 2 clamps, i got 2 spurs and 1 clamp, the missing part is another clamp which is attached to the drums body,without this clamp it can't be completed. So I request you to arrange the missing part some how and I am willing to pay for that.I don't want to return the product if you can arrange this.

As I'm sure you've noticed from most of the other reviews, this is not an all-in-one conversion kit. You DO need extra parts to make this work. I live near a drum shop that sells used mounts, so I used them to solve that issue. I have a relatively cheap kit, so I don't mind drilling holes into it. I found a used in black to blend in with my black tom. It's sturdy and works just fine.I've been using this with a Gibraltar beater, the to get a softer, jazzier sound. It's good stuff, but I'd recommend putting a port-hole in your front (bottom) head for any dampening you might want to do.

I've got a Tama Superstar Hyper-drive kit with a 16" floor tom. I needed to play a simple xmas gig at a friends home, just bass/snare/hi-hat and didn't want a 22" bass drum obviously. This plus the Pearl-IS1216SL/C tom bracket were perfect. Had the floor tom converted to a bass drum in 2 minutes flat with no issues at all. The gig went fine, and the 16" was just the right volume for a small space like that. I'd definitely recommend this configuration. You _will_ need the tom bracket for this kind of conversion but note that it comes with the BT-3 so you don't need to buy that separately. Just the Jungle Kit and the "Pearl IS1216SL/C for 12 to 16-inch 2.3mm SuperHoop" should get you ready to rock.
