As an alternative to purchase of a full stand-alone pen press, this allows you to convert your lathe head stock and tail stock into a pen assembly tool. It is small and easy to store in a tool box when not in use. I am pleased with my purchase.

The bushing is too large for the pen sleeve. It will not work. Do not buy this tool.

I suppose this should be a 5 star, but without any instructions I don't fully understand exactly how part of it works. Basically, it will press a pen using the tool on the lathe.

Instead of using a vise, or tapping "gently" with a hammer, try using this tool. It works, and it works with little effort. And, it makes for less cracked, warped or wrecked pens.

I like the center pin for supporting the tube and transmission and the conical recess on the other end for the pen tips. However, it would be nice to have a set of adapter sleeves for larger tubes.

The o'ring fit into the taper is very secure. I was a little concerned when I purchased these. However, my concern was unfounded. The guide pin and bushing are nice features.
