When I bought my little welder, it came with a 'free' hammer that was a sad little plastic thing with a metal tip. I knew it wouldn't do a good job or last. This all-steel hammer is more of what I needed.

The Black Welding Chipping Hammer was purchased to support light welding efforts. Comments following review and prior to use: 1. Hammer material is a solid steel/alloy, heavily painted in black, and well fabricated - appears to have solid connections at head and handle and withstood several heavy blows on an anvil. 2. Standard pointed tip on one end of head and chisel on other end - Nice. 3. Product is physically smaller/lighter than previously used same tools, but benefits small projects as intended here - preferred. 4. Heavy coiled metal handle on this tool is preferred over newer versions that have solid composite/plastic grip - not around hot metal people. 5. Note hanger loop on end of handle - Thoughtful. 6. This isn't an aesthetically refined tool and doesn't need to be - Like it this way !Great little hammer that has Good Form, Fit, Function and Value - use will determine its durability and longevity, but close inspection and a quick test indicate Good. Recommended with 5 Star rating.
