Penguin Pottery Gum Solution slows down glaze drying time and prevents cracking.
Apply to glazes to improve their brushability and achieve a more even application.
You can also apply our Gum Solution to dried up glazes by diluting them with water first, then adding our Gum Solution (as needed) to improve their brushability.
Spraying diluted gum solution over underglaze crayons (prior to glazing) will also prevent the underglaze from smearing while the glaze is applied on top.
Gum Solution is non-toxic. Do not ingest or use in food preparation. Can be thinned with water to achieve desired viscosity.
The color of our Gum Solution will NOT affect the color of your glazes - it is designed to burn off when firing.

Was a little leaky when it arrived, even though the inner seal seemed intact. Maybe a tiny spot let a bit escape. No big deal. Tried this out with an underglaze so I could get even coverage on a rough surface. Worked great:

I am a first year high school art teacher and inherited a poorly kept art room. Nearly all the glazes had dried and with my budget, buying new glazes wasn't an option. The gum solution and a hand immersion blender saved probably around 50 glazes. So thankful for penguin pottery! Love what they stand for and the products they make. This product is awesome! I wanted to use glaze like paint, and this product does just that. It keeps the glaze wet and flowing, allowing me to paint details on the piece that otherwise would be quite difficult. While it slows drying, it does not slow the process down, as it dries pretty quickly. I love this product, and it has opened up a new world of possibilities.
