The mic head threading is not the same. Results are that the threading in the mic is visible. Other than that it’s a decent replacement.

I was not disappointed in any way with this. Quality replacement part, at least as strong as the original on my SM58. No negatives here.

I bought this after someone got lipstick all over one of my mics. I have Shure GLXD-SM58 mics. The thread on the microphone was about 1/8th an inch greater than the thread on the windscreen, so even though it would tighten there was still thread showing on the microphone. I ended up running the ball with the lipstick on it thru the dishwasher and I’m saving this ball for one of my regular 58s.

I ordered a black one instead of the stock style silver just for a little bit of differentiation from a standard 58. Looks great, threaded right on, stays nice and tight.

Ok, so bought 4, 2 actually screwed all the way down on the mics. Not a big deal for me but might be for others. The 2 that didn't, went 90% of the way on so other than a couple of threads showing, which nobody will ever notice and doesn't affect the functionality a bit, made my mics look great again. So, if that is something that will keep you up at night, as many of the reviews have said, you're taking a chance. Otherwise, no problem with this product.
