this socket was described as thin wall . It would not fit in the hole in the wheel. NG

As others have said, this may be a thin wall socket but the addition of the white nylon/plastic sleeve makes it as thick walled as any other. It can be a bear to remove - I used a box cutter and did a cut down the length of the sleeve (be careful not to go all the way through or you will scratch the socket). Once it is cut it was a lot easier to slide the sleeve off, but of course this cannot be reversed. However I cared more about it being thin than having the white sleeve, so I was fine without it. After this modification it was good to go and I would recommend.

No place on the tag does it show impact as other tools of this brand do, however that is not what the product is designed for anyways. It is made to get into aftermarket wheels with small holes and it fits great. The plastic sleeve is to protect the wheels but useless as it is not thin walled then. Torque should always be broken by hand and then you spin nuts off with an impact if you want to with this as it is thin walled and clearly not impact. If you need this and think it may crack, buy a second one as no one will have a socket that fits on the side of the road for you if you have wheels like mine for sure. Five stars as it actually fits, I may have to use kid gloves with it but it does fit.

I am not a mechanic, so I don’t understand some of the “this isn’t thin walled” comments. I got the purple one in 13/16 for use with a 2021 airstream flying cloud and it fits. The tekton kit I also got from Amazon was supposed to be my lug nut kit for the truck and the trailer, but it was too thick for the trailer, as was my mechanic socket set from Lowe’s. It would not work with the cute plastic protective sleeve left on, then it is the same thickness as all of my other sets. It was this, or a thin walled socket from Mack tools ($50 for one), I got two of these for $12, so if it does fail at some point, I have a backup. Honestly seems to be well built, and 110 foot pounds of torque once or twice a summer isn’t gonna break this. Also, if you are using this for a similar purpose as me you will need an extender between your torque wrench and the socket itself.

The plastic-teflon sleeve comes off if your custom wheels have very small openings for the nut/bolt. I have some new Incurve 3 piece wheels which were painted, not powder-coated. This just barely fits but immediately I can see it won't scratch the paint and the socket shape grips the nut firmly. Very good value.

Poor QC. Unit was defective (off bore) and I damaged multiple nuts. with that prie, I was expecting an outstanding quality product.Went to my local store and bought an actual 13/16 unit for 1/4 of the price.
