I used this book cloth for a bookbinding project, and while it worked, there are some notable drawbacks. The four colors were perfect for my project since they matched the original paperback covers exactly. However, the texture leaves much to be desired. Upon closer inspection, I realized the product description does mention it’s suede, but the pictures made it look like typical linen book cloth, so I was a bit surprised.The material is on the thinner side, so you need to be careful when applying bookbinding glue—it will bleed through if you’re too heavy-handed. This wasn’t an issue for me since it happened on the inside cover, which I later covered with endpapers, but it’s something to keep in mind to avoid ruining your project.Another issue is that the material clings to dust and debris, making it look dirty quickly. It also appears prone to pilling over time if not handled carefully when removing or reshelving. Overall, the colors are nice, but the durability and texture may not be ideal for everyone.

Careful not to over glue. Despite being marketed as bookcloth. Glue will seep through. Consider adding an additional backing or being careful with amount of glue

I thought the amount and selection of colors for the price was worth trying. It’s certainly useable, just not nearly as nice as the linen book cloth I’ve used before. The feel of the cloth is very synthetic/polyester like. The maroon/burgundy sheet was creased in the middle of the sheet, so it was unusable for a large book. I’ll use it for smaller projects, gifts, journals, but not as intended.
