I got a pretty deep chip on my windshield, which I got on the interstate. It was pretty bad that I was afraid that we will become a crack.I immediately ordered this repair kit and follow the instruction. The instruction was somewhat clear and easy to understand, but I got much help from youtube video. After following the repair instruction, the chip is almost gone, or repaired.now it's been a couple of months, but I don't much see the chip and nor any cracks. This product is great

I use these all the time as we have awful highway by usUse on dry windshieldRemember to add the resin into the mount first and pull the vacuum for a good 20 minutes in the shade firstThen pushFollow instructionsDo not use if windshield is wet so you don’t trap water in the crack, if you do none of the kits workIf you do it in the sun, it cures in the mount without filling the crackStrong recommend buy, yes

I followed some YouTube tutorials because I am definitely one of the many who doesn't like to read the tiny writing big sheet of instructions. Plus it's easy to just follow along with a visual tutorial. The process was relatively easy. It does take some time to dry, but it's not hours upon hours at least. Removing extra resin is pretty decent with the razor they give. The quality, I have to say it pretty alright. My chip/crack is unfortunately not completely gone, however, it's noticeablely better. This functional kit did come in handy since my Gecko Insurance policy did not cover glass. The value for money is a lot more fair I'd say. 12/13 bucks as opposed to +20 bucks in the auto store. I did use this kit again because I am please with the results, this helped me when my rental got the bullseye on the day I picked it up. I couldn't remember it being there and it wasn't reported I decided to fix it after seeing that people don't get their deposit back on that. Needless to say, this kit is handy, easy to use, and will do a pretty decent job. Not completely crystal clear, however it may depend on the severity of the crack/ chip. Though Permatex is definitely the go to. I used it twice, on my personal and on a rental and it was good.

Bought this kit for hubby to fix a small crack on windshield that is about half inch wide (including the dot and extended lines, just think the planet Saturn). He took his time watching the instruction video a couple time, read and reread the instruction sheet, and prepared all items with rehearsal on all steps before starting. Extra items he had were medical gauze to tape below the adhesive pedestal to avoid resin dripping, well cleaning and microfiber towels and alcohol spray. He also brought the plastic razor saying it's safer than metal one. He said the most important part is actually take things slowly and reread before performing the next step. Also, making sure the pedestal has good seal is very important given how the syringe is introducing pressure into it. For the 10min and 20min pressure wait time, he actually gave 15/30. He picked a sunny day and left the car out for 30min also. The whole process was not messy and resin could easily rubbed off afterward he said. Here are two photo he took after and stated if you shine the light just right, the line and dot are still visible, but otherwise it's very difficult to spot post-treatment. The most important part now is to make sure the fix survives the upcoming winter. Will update this review once winter is done and rating may change based on the result. Here are the summary on Pros and Cons...Pro:-Easy to understand/follow instructions-Task doesn't take very long, but suggested not rushing through it-Definitely much less noticeable after fix applied-Inexpensive DIY kitCon:-Does not magically make damage area vanished as some would claim-Durability remains a concern post-treatment (pending adjustment after winter season)Thank you for reading my honest feedback

After considerable product review research on which kit to get for a DIY windshield chip repair, I eventually settled on Permatex and I'm glad I did (final contenders were this and the Rain X kit, some YouTube videos all agreed this was slightly better). I've included 2 before and 2 after photos of my repair of a 1/2" bullseye chip and radial crack. The pictures should speak for themselves. The chip is considerably less noticable after the repair and hasn't gotten any worse in the 2 weeks since the repair. This was my main concern, not letting a small chip turn into a big problem a few months down the line.Of course cosmetically it's not perfect, no DIY kit will be, but it's much better than I was expecting for $15 and 1 hour of my time. In fact the "after" pictures I included make the chip look so much worse post-repair than it does in real life. I know the blemish on my windshield is still there, however unless I'm REALLY looking for it, it's not noticable at all day-to-day. Virtually invisible unless the sun hits it juuussstttt right. Getting the "after" pictures to actually show and focus on the fixed chip was quite the challenge. As for doing the repair, it was pretty straightforward. I would recommend reading all the instructions and making sure you understand them before getting started because it is a time-sensitive process. I personally added 5 minutes of extra time to each the following 2 steps and I think it helped produce a slightly cleaner result:1) The step where you first insert the resin then pull a partial vacuum with the syringe to remove air from the crack.2) The step where you add positive pressure using the syringe to force the resin deeper into the crack.Follow the steps correctly, do it in the shade, and I think you'll also be happy with the results. 5/5 product since I went into it with reasonable expectations and was impressed with the easy process and impressive results.

Attached before and after images, the before is easily visible, the after you really need to hunt to find it, I even had to use a flashlight to make it show. Good stuff

I purchased this product to fix a very minor chip less than 6mm in size at the top of my windscreen, certainly nothing requiring a new windscreen. Followed the instructions to the letter. The process requires the use of a supplied syringe to create a vaccum and then pressure to push the resin into the chip. Through this process the chip became a crack approximately 8cm in length, requiring me to replace the entire windscreen as it was no longer roadworthy. (See attached photo). The product is absolutely the cause of this crack as the chip had been present for approximately 2 months prior to this and hadn't changed. The moment the adhesive was removed the new crack was visible. I am FURIOUS and this product has cost me hundreds of dollars!! Do NOT use this product unless you accept the risk it could make your issue worse.

Applied to a star shaped crack it turned it into a dot 10 times smaller that it was. All the star small radiations are filled. Don’t expect it to disappear complete but it does the job. 100% satisfied

My 2 month new car suffered a bullseye crack from a stray rock that landed on the windshield. Thankfully the crack was not too big or deep. Replacing the windshield would be the most illogical thing to do. Hence I bought and used this repair kit. Although there are cheaper options online, I don't mind spending more money and buy a quality product. Before using the kit watch a few videos on YouTube. Watch the videos two to three times so that you get the hang of the process. The instructions manual is not helpful with step by step images hence please rely on the YouTube videos before using the kit. As long as you follow the instructions step by step, the result will be accurate. As you can see, the kit managed to seal up my crack and there is no sign of any damage or imperfection. I highly recommend this product, it's given me peace of mind!!!
