I only gave it a 3 star as if your dog sleeps on a blanket,it can't be put on top. That's why you see all the photos online with pets on top of bare pad. Otherwise it's great!

Product description included in the box. These are two that are concerning:To avoid scalding your pet, do not heat it for a long time. (What is a long time? Pad has a continuous on function.) Electric heating pads should not be used by children unless parents or guardians have set them up in advance, or children have been given adequate instructions on how to use them. (But pets who don’t have the ability to communicate and could inadvertently manipulate the controls are ok?)When there are heavy objects such as folded covers placed on the heating pad, the electricity shall not be energized, so as to avoid local overheating of the pressed place of the heating pad.(What specifically is a folded cover? If that is considered a heavy object, is a pet whose weight is going to be concentrated on the pad also too heavy?I don’t know who or what this product is meant for but based on their own description, sounds like pets either might be in danger or might cause the product not to work. I returned the product because of these concerns.

I like the size and softness of this as it is just the right size for small dogs and cats my dog falls right asleep when I turn it on for them he loves it

My 14 year old Maine Coon just loves this pad. I put it on a raised trampoline style bed & it's now her go to spot for sleeping & relaxing now that the weather has turned colder. I highly recommend this if you have a small older animal.

I’ve had this pet heating pad for about three weeks. I bought for a feral cat I started feeding and she’s quite pleased with her new bed on my screened-in, covered patio. The winters in my state are snowy, wet, and cold and while she’s afraid to come in the house, at least I know she has shelter, food, and warmth. Since it is so chilly, I keep the heat setting on the max of 9 and, mostly, for 24 hours per day. She doesn’t lay directly on the heating pad as I have a light blanket on top. Your cat may not need it set as high heat-wise. Jasmine and I are very happy with this purchase!

I like how the cord is protected as my dog chewed up the last cord. When the power button is pressed it defaults to 6 heat level and 6 hour timer. It takes a while to warm up. I like that the cover is removable so it can be cleaned. The inside layer is water resistant.I tested the watts using a meter and found the following:Level 1 pulled 20 wattsLevel 2 pulled 0 wattsLevel 3 pulled 4 wattsLevel 4 pulled 7 wattsLevel 5 pulled 11 wattsLevel 6 pulled 16 wattsLevel 7 pulled 25 wattsLevel 8 pulled 33 wattsLevel 9 pulled 41 watts
