PF30 is an early name to distinguish this standard from the previous BB30 standard. The frame BB shell has 46mm ID. Shell width of 68mm is for road bike. And shell with of 73mm is for mountain bike. This threaded-together version of PF30 can also be used in T47 shell as long as the shell width and crank spindle diameter meets the stated dimensions.

Worked smooth as silk for a short time. While cheaper than some name brand units, it was still over $70 with tax! Developed lateral play after 2 months that could not be removed with preload adjustment. Non-drive bearing notchy and gritty. I ride road only in warm, sunny SoCal, so no mud or rain to blame for this piece of junk failing.
