I ordered these Pfaltzgraff Floral Matte Bowls because they have such a subtle color and design. They arrived triple boxed for extra protection. These bowls are just as beautiful in person as on the screen. My only caveat is that they are rather heavy. I should have known that, as they are stoneware; but I've been used to lighter weight dishes. Still, these bowls are so pretty that I'll be happy to be using them. They are large so will accommodate a full can of soup in the microwave.

Received theses bowls and they quickly have become my favorite bowls, I had recently purchased the dark blue bowl from another big brand and they were great but the size was too small for me. These bowls are just the right size in my opinion, not too big and not to small. I like having my bowls only about 50% to 70% full and these do just that for my meal size without having to get up for multiple servings. I put next to the coke can so people can compare the size.The color is plain but I like that and the design is simple, some have mentioned some slight imperfections which I noticed as well but very lite and it doesn’t bother me at all, nor do I feel it takes away from use of the bowls. In my case you have to look very hard to find those imperfections.Only thing I would change would be that these only seem to be microwave and dishwasher safe which is great and they don’t claim to be more but it would be nice if they were more durable in putting in freezer and so on like the other brand. You know sometimes you grab some ice cream and don’t finish it and want to store in the freezer and now you can’t or have to transport to something else. The price is ok as well, if they were useable in all environments they would be great. I would still recommend these as I said they have become my new favorite bowls.

I love these bowls! They arrived well-packaged and padded. Each stoneware bowl is heavy (17 oz) and is 3 inches in diameter at the base, expanding up to 3” tall and 6” in diameter at the top. The designs are lovely and the bowls are smooth but not slippery. I did not notice any crafting imperfections/rough spots/bubbling.After washing them, I gave my mother dinner using one and she commented right away about how pretty the bowl was and that was the “perfect size.” I agree. I have been using a variety of plastic bowls because our stone or porcelain bowls were too large or too shallow, or both. These Pfaltzgraff bowls are an ideal size for an all-in-one meal, soup, or cereal.I tested one by boiling water in the microwave and it tolerated five minutes on high with no discernable problem. This is day one, so I will update the review in a few days before posting it.Update: After using these bowls for six days, I still love them and I use them at nearly every meal. The size, weight, craftsmanship, and designs are wonderful. 100% recommend.

These are very nicely made and decorated bowls in just the right size for soup, noodles, cereal… or a pile of ice cream. The shape of each bowl is elegant and the decoration has just the right touches of imperfections as to appear to be decorated entirely by hand. Each bowl had one of three different floral motif appliqués which, though all are similar, really help with the hand-decorated appearance.The glazes also have subtle imperfections which I really find pleasing to the eye. And the colors are gorgeous, in my opinion.They are a good weight, and with a bit of care, they look like they’re going to last a lifetime.The only negative I found was that, on two of the six bowls, there are bits of kiln debris stuck in the glaze on the rim of the bottom. On one bowl, it’s sharp enough that I’ll file it down a bit to be sure it won’t give me a cut or scratch when I’m scrubbing the bowl clean.

Considering the price and portion (6 big bowls), it's kind of an ok purchase. The bowls are big and deep, good for cereal or noodle. It's really thick, so presumably fairly sturdy.But I will not make the purchase myself, nor recommend it to my friends - mainly because the overall make is cheap: you can notice the irregular glaze bumps everywhere, and the stickers don’t peel off easily. Personally I would turn to a better brand at some sale event instead of getting this set.
