Have used the Phalanx for about two weeks, mostly with the hedge trimmer. It has plenty of power, is light and easy to use and has replaced my full sized trimmer for many jobs. Very happy customer so far.

The video ad for this trimmer is a bit misleading. It really struggled to cut through bush branches and got jammed up easily when shaping some of my shrubs. This is really only good for small jobs like tall grass growing in places too dangerous for a weed whacker and some light shaping on bushes and shrubs with thin branches. If it’s been a while since you shaped them and the branches are thicker than a quarter inch this thing is going to jam up.

I purchased this trimmer to cut excess grass as well as to trim the shrub in front of my townhouse. It performed quite well for both of those jobs. But, then I decided to try to cut back some decorative spider grass in one of my planting beds, which was left by the previous owner. Here again, it went through that job like a hot knife through butter. Before first using, I charged it completely until the red charging light went out. I didn't have to charge it again until I was almost completely finished with everything. My son and daughter-in-law were also quite impressed with this trimmer, as I am. It would be nice to have a longer handle so I don't have to bend down all the time but, I'll make do. Highly recommend!!

I spent $35 for this trimmer that doesn’t have enough power to trim a tiny leaf d bush. Forget a stem if any kind, barley will cut the leaf.

This tool is smaller but gets the job done! It is incredibly easy to switch out the blades and use the tool. The only reason I gave it four stars rather than five is because I wish there was more power to it. While it’s great for the majority or shrub/bush trimming, it does get caught in thicker branches.

I moved into the house about five months ago and I’m trying to keep down expenses as it’s costing me way way more than I ever imagined. Mowing the lawn myself manually and twice I used scissors to trim the borders because my lawn isn’t that big. The second time I must’ve had moisturized hands or something because it took the skin off in two places. Then I tried finishing it with my other hand, and it took some skin off. That’s when I decided I was going to buy one of these for sure. There are several versions/sellers, and for some reason this struck me as the most well-made looking. You can change the angle on this one which I don’t remember seeing with the other trimmers. I charged it when I first bought it which seemed to take a while and then left it for several weeks. I just used it for the first time and even going around twice to check, it has plenty of power. Reading all the cautions about the blades I put gloves on which I didn’t need but I wasn’t familiar with it. Let me tell you, this thing is a powerhouse! It mowed right down without hesitation, and the one time I got something slightly stuck it stopped, and then started again. it will stay in cutting mode without you having to keep your finger on the trigger whether it’s supposed to or not lol I even tackled the thicker grass that grows at angles that’s not really easy to cut well with the mower….more than impressed! I kind of let it glide around the edge and the second round I spot trimmed and put it down at an angle towards the border to cut that even shorter. You can cut anything on your grass. Just be careful cause it will cut as low as you go. The thing that slides back-and-forth to lock, it does not work very well and you can hear a slight click, but it’s not obviously in place so be careful! Seriously one of the best things I’ve bought! I have not tried the hedge trimmer yet though, and I will update when I do.

For small yard jobs, it’s perfect. It’s rechargeable, so obviously not super powerful but easy to use and very functional for trimming grass as piddling around the yard with small hedges and trimmings. I’m very pleased with this purchase. My son would probably want a much more powerful yard tool but for me, super-happy with this purchase. Light-weight and useful.
