Got this on a YouTube recommendation for ratchet & bicycle lubrication. Works great in my ratchets (work a little quieter & smoother) & pocket knives.. Thick & sort of sticky oil, not for all lube jobs because of thickness. Tried in an old travel hair dryer fan motor, which runs a little smoother now (bushing bearings get hot on the tiny dryer, used to dry model paint). Dripper tip is on the large side but I used a toothpick for pin point application.

I bought my first bottle of Tenacious Oil in the 1990's, and it's still the best for lubricating bike parts. I was sad to see the bottle is no longer green, but I didn't buy it for the bottle. Just oiled up my hard-tail and went for a ride after a 5 year layoff. No squeaks and easy shifts and stops. Hooray for Phil Wood Tenacious.

there may newer stuff, but phil wood products don't compromise. their tenacious oils have worked for me for years. maybe sentiment, but i am ok with it's performance even today

Used it to lubricate a bike freewheel after cleaning and reinstallation on a new hub. Thick and works well for that application.

I had tried everything under the sun. I switched to Phil’s lube and never looked back. First thing…never wash/clean your chain in one of those cleaning machines. Your chain is packed with good lube. Why would you wash it away? Always clean your chain with a dry microfiber towel (Costcos are best). These reach in and get all the dirt/excess lube off the chain better than anything else. Make sure to clean the chain in this manner before applying Phil’s oil. Apply the oil just one tiny drop at each link. After you’ve lubed it, take the microfiber towel and wipe down the chain until all the oil is off. This lube will last approximately 200 miles with no chain noise. I get 3500 miles on my SRAM 12 speed chain with virtually no wear. It’s not even detectable with the Park Tool chain measuring tool. I have 20,000 miles on the SRAM 12 speed cassette again without wear. Make sure to clean the chain with the microfiber towel between lubes. I credit the longevity of these components to Phil’s oil and the microfiber towels. Also, if you’re going to be riding in dust or gravel make sure to clean the chain off before and after the ride.

I have hose tubes and toolboxes on my truck that I need to keep locked. This oil is very thick, and protects my locks by keeping road grime and water out of them. It makes the locks easy to open and close, and will substantially increase the useful life of all my locks.
