Tried this adapter on the Minolta CLE and it didn't allow for focusing through the viewfinder. Seems to be well built but doesn't seem to work with the CLE.

I am now able to use old yashica mount lenses on a Leica body. Great adaptor. Does what it needs to do. It comes also with a small fabric bag which is a nice addition. Happy with this product

This adapter worked great to put my K-mount 50/1.4 on an M3. It allows infinity focus, which is important since some of these adapters don't. With the price of M-mount lenses, this is a great alternative to be able to utilize some of your other lenses on your Leica bodies. The K-mount side is very tight when putting on and taking off the lens, but it holds securely and doesn't appear to be scratching or damaging the lens body in any way.

I have a few M42 lenses and some use a pin on the back to close down the aperture. I have a few other M42 adapters for whatever camera mount (Fuji or Sony) and one in Leica M/L so I can use it with my autofocus Techart adapter. I put the lenses at an aperture and has a ring inside that is actually pressed against the pin to make it work. It's a sturdy metal adaptor, so I'm not worried about it falling apart with regular use.

Why is there 6 bit in the title? This is definitely not in the adapter. Which lens would it code as?

Fonctionne parfaitement mais n'est pas reconnu par le boitier Leica M, ce qui semble ne rien changer. Photos cadrées avec l'écran arrière du boîtier M.

The use case for an adapter like this (for Leica M) is either (a) using Nikon G lenses (which have no aperture rings, (b) using AF AF-D AF-S lenses when you want to leave the aperture locked on 22, or (c) any F lens. The first case is compelling; the second one might mean you're really lazy; and the third one is masochism. In point of fact, the control on this unit is so close to the location of the actual aperture ring that you might as well use the aperture ring. This unit is solidly made, well finished (especially the clicked knurled chrome aperture ring, which sadly does not de-click), and has a register distance that is very close to perfect (image-plane focus hits infinity on the "near" lobe of the mark on a 50/1.4 AF-D).I would recommend this as a decent alternative to the Novoflex, which is the gold standard of Leica M to Nikon lens adapters, at a fraction of the price.

This is a well-made adapter to attach Exakta lenses to Leica M bodies or M adapters for use on other camera bodies. Both ends of the adapter are well made and fit properly. The lever on the Exakta side catches the pin on the lens well and holds the lens in place. It also releases easily. The adapter also has a place where it can be manually 6-bit coded. Once coded, the coding is only for a specific lens, so I plan to leave it uncoded for use with different lenses.

Like many other adapters, it is composed of two main parts: a lens mount which is screwed into a body with an integrated camera mount. On this adapter, the former appears to be made of plated brass, while the later from aluminum. The body is nicely milled: interior surfaces are ridged and have a matte black finish—both to minimize reflections—while the exterior is attractively finished in a glossy black. According to my digital calipers, the height is slightly short: that is the norm for adapters (so that there is no risk of losing the ability to focus to infinity). It’s a well made piece of kit that will get the job done.It comes with a microfiber carrying bag for storage. Personally, I’d have preferred a small plastic box, because boxes make for easier storage management when one has a large collection of adapters, as I do.If you are looking for a top-tier adapter (e.g., one with a brass camera mount, for durability) and are willing to spend several times more than this one sells for, then keep looking. However, if you want a reasonably priced, mid-tier adapter (and won’t mind the lack of a box) then I recommend can it without reservation.Summary:• Lens mount: plated brass• Camera mount: aluminum• Wobble: none observed on either the lens or camera mount sides• Height: slightly short (as expected)• Interior surfaces: ridged with matte black finish• Exterior: attractive glossy black finish• Overall: well made mid-tier adapterDisclosure: I received this item for free. My review is honest and uncensored.

I use Leica M mount because that's what the TechArt LM-EA7 autofocus-for-manual-lenses adapter presents for my Sony E/FE mount cameras, but I have lenses mostly in other mounts -- like Minolta SR/MC/MD. Some M adapters will not work on the TechArt due to hitting the rather large motor housing, but this works fine. Everything about the adapter seems well made and fit is excellent. One of the little "tells" that the adapter is of high quality is that the SR/MC/MD bayonet uses actual springs to hold the wings, whereas most adapters simply depend on the bayonet wings being bent slightly to apply the right pressure. The ad says "Effortless mount with 6-Bit Coding," but that's not relevant to the LM-EA7 because it can't read the 6-bit codes. On the other hand, this adapter doesn't implement any 6-bit code either. There are slightly indented spots for where you'd paint the code corresponding to a particular lens, but this doesn't include paint for that. Again, not an issue at all for me...In sum, this is a well-made adapter that works on my LM-EA7.
