I was looking for a portable printer to have in my camper when I was away from my desk printer.Yes it was compact and used regular paper but the print quality was very poor.I returned the printer.I would not buy again not would I suggest to my friends.

This product is really good value for money and an absolute boon if you need to travel for work. Working mostly from home but with limited space, I had no room on my desk for a large printer or scanner. This was perfect - easy to store and quick and simple to set up. I use it solely by bluetooth via my mobile and it's been great.However having only previously printed with a ribbon, I recently purchased some thermal paper to use the printer in thermal mode. The print quality was very good. However after printing around 12 sheets or so, it refused to print any further, with the app prompting me to reinsert the ribbon - this was odd as I was printing thermally. After trying several things, eg downloading the app again, re-setting the printer, trying a different cartridge with the ribbon removed, I eventually and if I'm honest, without much expectation emailed Phomemo Customer Services. I was pleasantly surprised by the prompt and courteous reply - and after sending the firmware details, I received an email telling me that the next time I opened the app, I would be asked to update it as they had updated the firmware. Intrigued, I opened the app and sure enough, there was the request. I updated the app, set up the printer and bingo - the issue was resolved and I was able to print over 100 pages yesterday without any issues. I was impressed by the hardware - but now I'm even more impressed by their Customer Services and aftercare!

I purchased this printer for my travels abroad and it was definitely a game changer for me. Before I would be writing away contracts and other documents and would either have to go to the hotel business center to print it out which most hotels did not have or find a place nearby that could print them for me. It was a hassle to say the least. Then I found this printer and no more going out of the hotel and looking for printers. It does an excellent job printing up the documents. If you travel a lot for work, I highly recommend this unit. Even if you don't need it, it is great to know that you have it just in case. One document can be the difference of getting the job right and on time.

was soo looking forward to this printer. I just totally ignored the yellow amazon fregently return warning. I now see why it was frequently returned. The paper doesn't feed straight or through enough that your image or text even prints completely on the paper correctly. Three attemps I made for a test the carbon ink paper in side kept getting caught with the paper and fed through with the paper that only would feed out part way. Went through the trouble shooting, what a joke...NOPE not wasting my time it goes back, Huge disappointment HUGE. Will not buy again. Not to self if Amazon says frequently return believe it.

This is a great portable printer easy to set up easy to use . your not going to be printing photos on this but it works great for printing Bills when I can't be at my desk. its light weight, fits in my back pack, and you can use normal paper with it.

The idea of not needing ink is very appealing and as my old all in one printer broke recently, I decided to try this. I must say, I found it terribly difficult to pair for use on my laptop. It took literally hours to complete as instructions are simply not adequate and Windows 11 & instructions on the laptop are even worse. The pairing process for the printer was appalling on my HP Stream laptop, so this is only partially the fault of the printer. It pairs for recognition easily, but won't operate on bluetooth------I discovered, eventually, that I have to operate from "printers" in "devices" on the laptop, following bluetooth pairing and the options for printing type/size etc are very limited without the Phomema app which cannot be installed on the Windows 11 HP Stream laptop. It is also worth mentioning that one must disable "Allow Microsoft to control printer" and to name the Phomema as the default printer in settings on the laptop to get the printer to work.I have now got it working, with normal paper, but am finding it impossible to fit items onto one page as text is rather oversized and I have, as yet, found no means of reducing the size of the print. I have tried out use on a Doro 'phone and there are no problems to report- easy connection, app download and function so with android more easily and the abve issues do not occur. Due to screen size, I prefer to use my laptop (I am an elderly lady) and it remains to be seen, how useful the printer will be for my purposes. I intend to try thermal paper and to try to produce mail labels in fairly large quantities.

My one complaint is that if printer is directly connected to my Dell XPS 15 via USB C the printer won't work. It has to go through a hub first. I imagine it's a power rating issue with USB C and needs to be stepped down. Not a big deal just took a few minutes to figure out and requires me to carry one extra small thing.

Je suis vraiment satisfait de mon achat de l'imprimante portable Phomemo P831 !C'est une imprimante thermique de très bonne qualité qui répond parfaitement à mes besoins. Le principal avantage est qu’elle n’utilise pas d’encre, ce qui est un énorme gain de temps et d’argent. Le rendu est très clair et précis, avec une résolution de 300 DPI qui offre des impressions nettes, même pour des documents détaillés.L'installation est super simple : il suffit de connecter l'imprimante à mon téléphone via Bluetooth (compatible avec Android et iOS), et je peux imprimer instantanément depuis n'importe où, que ce soit des documents, des photos ou des étiquettes. Elle prend en charge le papier ordinaire A4, ce qui est pratique pour imprimer des pages complètes ou des documents standard sans se soucier de formats spéciaux.Le design est compact et portable, et la boîte de rangement incluse est très pratique pour transporter l'imprimante et ses accessoires. La batterie tient bien la charge, ce qui me permet d'imprimer pendant plusieurs heures sans problème.En résumé, c'est un excellent produit, idéal pour ceux qui ont besoin d'une imprimante portable, rapide et économique. Je recommande vivement cette imprimante pour un usage personnel ou professionnel léger !

This is a great portable printer that uses regular paper not thermal. My husband loves it. He doesn't have to run to the currency Exchange to pay $1 to print an invoice anymore to obtain our permits we need.

wenn man ihn in Relation zu seiner Technik und seinen Möglichkeiten, und anders kann es nicht sein, beurteilt.Sowohl Tintenstrahldrucker als auch Laserdrucker liefern bessere als auch deutlich billigere Ergebnisse. Die unschlagbaren Vorteile eines Thermodruckers bestehen in seiner Kompaktheit, also Mobilität, sowie im Vergleich zum Tintenstrahldrucker darin, dass er auch nach einer langen Pause nicht eingetrocknet ist.Beim P831 kommt hinzu, dass er auch für den Druck auf Normalpapier geeignet ist. Das Versprechen von Duplexdruck, das einige Rezensenten verwirrt hat, bezieht sich darauf, dass man auf einem bedruckten Blatt Papier auch die andere Seite bedrucken kann, beispielsweise mit der zweiten Seite eines Dokuments, was bei Thermopapier nicht möglich ist.Das Drucken mit dem Farbband ist in erster Linie für Texte gedacht und dafür bestens geeignet. Ich habe bei meinen ersten Probedrucken auch Gitterstrukturen mit dünnen Linien versucht. Nach ersten Enttäuschungen und diversen Einstellungsversuchen waren die Ergebnisse hervorragend. Man muss sich eben mit den Einstellungen für „Seite“ und „Grafik“ spielen. Kompliziertere Grafiken, ich verwendete farbige Bordkarten mit Werbung, konnte ich nicht zufrieden stellend hinbekommen, beim Drucken auf Thermopapier wurden sie so, dass man mich wohl in den Flieger hineingelassen hätte. Generell sind die Ergebnisse auf Thermopapier besser als auf Normalpapier mit dem Farbband. Genau das teilt der Hersteller ja auch mit. Will man allerdings bei einem Ausdruck auf Thermopapier schriftlich etwas hinzufügen, von Radieren ganz zu schweigen, ist davon wirklich abzuraten.Der Wechsel zwischen Druck auf Farbband und auf Thermopapier ist kinderleicht. Die Installation des Treibers auf den Computer sowie der Software (vulgo „app“) auf das Smartphone ebenso. Die Verbindung des Druckers mit dem Computer läuft über USB, mit dem Smartphone über Bluetooth. Beides funktioniert einwandfrei.Ich habe den Drucker gekauft, um auch im Urlaub diverse Ausdrucke machen zu können. Bei seinem Volumen und Gewicht kann man ihn auch auf einem Flug im Handgepäck mitnehmen.Ich rate sehr dazu, auch die Aufbewahrungsbox zu kaufen. Die ist ein sehr guter Schutz, lässt sich leicht tragen, und man kann nicht nur die Kabel, sondern auch ein Ersatz - Farbband hineingeben.Eine sehr wichtige Sache bei jedem Kauf ist der Kundendienst für den Fall der Fälle. Ich habe zwei technische Anfragen gestellt, jedes Mal am späten Abend. Jedes Mal hatte ich am nächsten Morgen eine vollendet höfliche Antwort (wie man sie von europäischen Firmen eher nicht erhält) in meinem Mailprogramm und als ich einmal eine Zusatzinformation lieferte, war die Antwort in Minutenschnelle da, obwohl sie aus einer anderen Zeitzone kam. Besser ist unmöglich.DIESE REZENSION IST NICHT AUS DEUTSCHLAND !
