It’s great for training, touring and keeping track of your car-free miles. Its easy-to-read 4-line display gives you 5 pieces of data (including temperature!) at a glance.

Have been using these for 20 years and am very satisfied with them. I have them on 3 bikes and one died. It was at least 10 years old. The one I bought is a replacement for the old one.

Does what it supposed to do. This is a replacement for one I purchased 25 years ago. I got my money's worth out of it.

I am very pleased with the Planet Bike Protege 9.0 (wired) bicycle computer. The computer does not have multiple buttons (it has NO buttons), which greatly simplifies operation. Once the computer is set up per enclosed instructions, the computer displays "fixed" information on the first 3 lines of the display, but the computer itself can be nudged forward in the mounting bracket to change what is displayed on the 4th line of the display (do not push longer than 1 second or all ride data will be reset!).The computer screen is large enough to see all information on all lines clearly while in the saddle. For the sake of safety while actively riding, I would highly recommend that you do not push the computer forward in the mounting bracket to see a change in information on the 4th line (that is where average speed is displayed) until you stop riding. I was, at first, not happy with average speed not being constantly displayed on the first 3 lines of the display, but there is a pace arrow that is displayed on the primary screen that will change to let you know if you are doing better than (points up), or worse than (points down) your current average speed. This makes sense to me!I really like the wired approach, as you will always be assured of a strong signal to the computer from the magnet sensor that is mounted on one of the front wheel spokes. Mount the pickup sensor on the fork as close as you can to the magnet sensor without its hitting and be very careful to NOT place the pickup sensor so that the magnet sensor passes it in the middle (the instructions do caution about that). The wiring harness is long enough to allow the computer mounting bracket to be placed on the handlebars; there is some excess, but I compensated by wrapping the wire around the handlebars a couple of times. Be careful to leave some slack in the wire!A really nice feature is that when the bicycle is stopped during a ride, the computer also stops... this ensures that your ride average speed will be computed only by the time that you were actively riding.I have written this review based on a 30-mile ride that I took once I had the computer installed.Bottom line: I think you can confidently buy this bicycle computer. It comes at an affordable price point and to all indications from my actual ride to test it out, performs without any issues.
