Im not sure if i received a refurb but it came inside a box that came straight from the manufacturer. It was missing its gasket (the white piece that runs the perimeter of the lid in the product pic). This is a vital part for all weather protection. The case itself is also flimsy and thin. The bottom foam is undersized as well. There's a ¼" to ⅜" gap between the case wall and the foam. Returned. Going back to a pelican vault for just $20 more.

I took off the bottom foam and didn’t pluck any of the top. My tool fits and closes perfectly. Well built and gorgeous design!!

I have two complaints:1.) The inside usable space becomes less spacious due to the foam boarder being a solid 1" thick so you lose a total of 2" left to right and lose 2" top to bottom. Really screwed up my planned layout. C'mon Plano! The inside measurements you provide are false advertising. You state "Measurements: 14" L x 10" W x 5" H" when in reality the ACTUAL usable space is 11.25"x7.75".2.) Same comparable case is essentially half the price and comes with TSA certified locks and this case doesn't?This case is way overpriced for what it is (or isn't).

For the price, you get a lot of bang for your buck (pun intended). There's not a lot to say about this case. It's heavy duty, secure, sealed, weather resistant, and provides ample space to transport 2 pistols to and from the range. I was easily able to custom fit my G17 Gen3, G42 with +2 Mag Extenders, 1 mag each in the mag wells (unloaded of course), and 2 additional mags (1 additional for each pistol). Further, I was able to orient my pistols such that they are pointed down range while uncasing and caseing my pistols. It's not a metal reinforced locking case, but it's not $500 Pro model either. It does more than it should at its price point, and does it well.
