About this item

  • Holes allow wire pairs to be inserted through front of connector for faster terminations
  • Works with solid or stranded wire
  • FCC compliant, UL rated. Use in category 3, 5, 5E compliant data networks
  • Connectors are RoHS compliant
  • Simple one piece design, no bars or liners

The Platinum Tools 100003B EZ-RJ45 Connector simplifies twisted pair terminations by allowing the wires to be inserted through the connector and out the front. This allows the technician to easily verify the proper wiring order. Electrical performance of the termination is optimized by pulling the connector down over the cable jacket and seating it tightly in the rear of the connector, reducing the distance between the wire twists and contacts, improving performance. It reduces scrap, no wasted crimps. It is more reliable with higher performance. Crimp with the patented EZ-RJ45 Crimp Tool...crimps and trims in one cycle. Manufactured in the USA. Patented. Platinum Tools, founded in 1997, was created based upon two very simple objectives. First, develop and source the absolute best possible solutions for the preparation, installation and hand termination of wire and cable. Second, implement an operational infrastructure that can deliver these products in an efficient, timely and high quality manner. All Platinum products absolutely must satisfy three critical benchmark criteria, utility of function, quality of function, and economic value. “This item is not sold directly by Platinum Tools.”

These are not cheap plastic knock offs, they are worth the extra buck

I've used over a thousand of this brand of connector on a recent project at work. If you find that one of your connectors doesn't seem to plug in all of the way such that the retainer clip doesn't engage, it isn't because your connector is too long. When you insert the connector into the crimp tool be sure that all 8 wires extend through the tool and poke out the other side. The gap is fairly narrow, and often one or more wires get bent and stay inside of the crimp tool. This keeps the connector from fully seating by at least the width of a wire. When you crimp it it will cut off the wires a wire's width (or more) too long instead of the wires being flush with the plastic. That is just enough to make the retainer clip not to engage when you plug it into the socket.I find these connectors easier to use than the non feed-through kind because I can see that the wire order is correct prior to crimping, and trimming the wire length is much simpler.

I have been making Ethernet cables for years, (more years than I want to count) and these make the job so much easier. Well worth the little extra cost, and you more than make up for the little extra cost in the time savings. I will be buying more for sure.

These are defective and do not fit into an RJ45 jack. They are a little too big. DO NOT BUY THEM. I bought them on two different occasions and they are both the same - they do not work. One is past the return date so I am out $60 although I might try to file a dispute with VISA if Amazon doesn't make things right. I gave them another chance thinking I was just unlucky but they are selling something that is not what is advertised.

I would recommend this connector to anyone that is wanting to terminate CAT5 cables right the first time. It also makes it easy to train someone new on how to terminate cables. This design minimizes cross-connection on the cables.

Ok but not worth what I paid for them

When making up LAN cables there is always the worry that I've crossed a pair while inserting the wires into the connectors. With these connectors the wires pass all the way through, allowing conformation that they are inserted correctly and also allowing the jacked to be properly inserted so the crimp holds the jacket properly. Add to that the tool trims the excess wiring off as if it was never there. Great tool and great service from the company supplying it!

Bought same time as the Platinum Tools EZ-RJPRO HD Crimp Tool and they work good. They snap right in the outlets once crimped onto cable. There were no area inside the connector to catch the cable on as some connectors have (no bind-up points sticking out inside the connector). I like these and will buy more when needed.
