I would've preferred this to be larger but this is the standard size of the Philippines polvoron so I am not complaining. This helps a lot in making polvoron compared to other molds because of its spring action. The spring is quite strong so you might feel tired after a while. Also, the middle flap could've been wider because at that size, they start to hurt my fingers after a while.This is so easy to clean but I recommend keeping the presser open while drying so it dries faster.It has minor flaws but its perfect for creating polvoron and probably not going to make any if I do not have this.

Got this because my son fell in love with polvorons ages ago (specifically ube polvorons) as a result of having a Filipino in-law. Figured it'd be a good activity to do with him: homemade ube polvorons.The mold works great and creates polvorons with a nice consistent shape. It's easy to clean, small enough it can be stored pretty much anywhere, and the push handle works well. The "tiny flaw" mentioned in the title is: the push handle and flat surface inside the mold have a slight tendency to twist sometimes as you use them, which can result in the mold getting "stuck" in the ejected position, for lack of a better word. It's easily fixed by just twisting the handle and letting the base pop back into place, but still something to be aware of.For a better description of what I meant there, the flat bottom of the mold pushes to the open end of the mold, whereupon the polvoron can be deposited on the cookie sheet/parchment paper/whatever. That flat bottom sometimes gets misaligned and catches on the edges of the open end, preventing it from returning to the "ready for more dough" position. Hopefully that helps you visualize it more.Overall, though, it was a fun experience to make our own polvorons and this mold worked very well, especially after we figured out this tiny flaw and how to fix it.

This molder is designed to make traditional Filipino Polvoron cookies. It is sturdily built and the shaft is welded to the cookie form. It is all metal construction. In one of my photos you can see that I pushed hard enough that the press pushed out beyond the cookie mold. I was just testing the spring and it is quite durable. But in reality you shouldn’t do that as the oval press can get stuck outside of the mold if it is slightly askew. But that was easily corrected. Please see my photos.

This little Polvoron mold is very sturdy heavy metal with a good stiff spring. It is made in India. The inside oval press is perfectly oval and well formed but the outer ring that actually forms the shape is pretty sloppy, it’s more of an egg than an oval. Because of that, there’s a lot of space between the inner and outer oval. It still works ok but it not a perfect oval. It’s definitely sturdy but the outer oval shape needs to be more refined to justify the price.
