While the camera bracket fits nicely into the Pop N Lock door handle, it doesn’t show a clear view of the back as the original. You can still see the edge of the bumper but you see more of the tailgate than the original and than is ideal

This was purchased for use with Pop & Lock PL5400 Black Manual Tailgate Lock, specifically for a 2011 Toyota Tacoma. When I removed the stock camera from the old latch during the PL5400 install, the stock camera bracket (plastic) fell to pieces. As far as I can tell, this is the only bracket available without having to buy a camera, too. Since my camera works just fine, I ordered this to save a bunch of dollars. When I received this, I immediately began to have doubts. It's the right shape, the right angles, etc., with the bolt and screw holes in the right places. But it has no flange or "seat" or gasket on the camera side of the bracket, just a flat area to mount the camera. But I installed it anyway, with fingers crossed. As another customer said, this bracket does not allow the stock camera to protrude enough to see down to the bumper. You can see the tailgate handle indentation, part of the tailgate, then rearward/outward. But you can't see the bumper or trailer hitch area at all.So I'll have to make some modifications, perhaps a gasket. If I can work that out, I'll probably also need longer screws than the stock ones or those provided (the screws shaft/threads required are very small). Another solution would be to grind down the female bracket mounting studs and bracket mounting regions, but that might be risky and tricky and tedious (would not want to take off more than 2mm, I think).Although this bracket is of very sturdy material (not flimsy at all), it needs to include some kind of gasket or spacer (with longer screws) to allow correct positioning of the stock camera. I'm going to keep this bracket and try to work out a solution since the price of this bracket is very low. If I can't work out the fitment issues, I'll have to spend a lot of money on an entire camera assembly set just to get a proper bracket. If I come up with a great solution, I might update this review.

I bought a Pop-n-Lock tailgate handle and needed this hardware to install the backup camera. Installing the bracket was easy, but it wasn’t designed to mount any camera. I had to modify the camera’s mounting bracket to make it work. However, the camera barely stuck out of the opening. Contemplating on returning this hardware. Plus, it’s too expensive!

Got this for my 2007 Tacoma... Tried to mount a kenwood CMOS 230, and i just can't get the cam to stick out at a good angle.

This was the exact bracket I needed to correct Toyota's shoddy work.

when I ordered the tailgate lock PL5500 I found it did not accept the cam mount. Upon checking the manufactureer's site I found that this mount was required . Once it arrived all went together as needed and the products worked well.
