The instructions (which are kind of a joke) don’t tell you to do this, but looking back on the online description it says to cut out the plastic middle part for accurate measurements. The instructions also don’t tell you that to turn it off you hold both measurement buttons. We found it to be accurate once we learned how to use it. I wish they put a magnetic base in it that would be convenient for more accurate risings when using the device on your own. You could stick it to your fridge or even the front door and not mess around with it sliding. It’s fun to use more than anything and it has worked for our family. I hope you have eagle eyes to read the instructions!

I do not believe this is worth the price because it does not work half the time. I have followed the instructions and reread the instructions numerous times. I have used this exactly as the instructions have stated. It takes about 10 tries to get this to actually work and take a proper measurement. When it works, it works well but the frustration of trying to get it to actually work is not worth it. When I first received it it had no charge so I had to charge it up first. I did that and I was excited to test it out. I had so many issues even trying to get it to work in the beginning that I couldn't get a proper number. Then I realized that the little white piece in the middle, as shown in the description only on Amazon, needs to be removed. This is not in the instructions. So I did that. I still had issues getting a proper measurement and it still takes many many tries for it to actually work. Usually when I press the button after the person moves it doesn't bring up any sort of measurement and you have to press it numerous times. I gave this three stars because it does actually work but I took off two because it is so frustrating to get it to work. I'd rather just stick with a tape measure.

unnecessarily loud and difficult to use. Its not always accurate and it can be very difficult to read the LED numbers. I do like that it is powered by a charger and not batteries.
