Your cart is empty. The Portland Design Works Light Nug is a clever solution that transforms any standard frame eyelet into a mounting point for your bicycle headlight. This versatile alloy mount frees up valuable handlebar space while solving the common problem of basket cargo blocking light beams. Built with precision knurling to prevent rotation and featuring a 26.0mm diameter, the Light Nug offers secure and creative light placement options wherever you have an available eyelet. While robustly constructed, this mount is designed exclusively for lighting applications and delivers a practical alternative to traditional handlebar-mounted setups.

Really nicely finished knurled aluminum.

This is a great way to mount a light if you have too much hanging off your handlebars or whatever already and have a spare rack eye on your bike (you probably do if you have a low-rider, or no rack at all, but have standard brazed-on eyes). The quality is good as is the price (apart from the cost of shipping from the US to Australia).

Wanted a solution for a light mount that I could use on multiple bikes when handlebar space wasn’t available, came across a blog with a DIY guide which included the “CATEYE H-34N FlexTight bracket” and this mount was the coolest looking, the combination fit perfectly, easy install, easy removal

I needed the ability to put some extra lights on my bike as it is getting dark sooner and I need to be safe. The textured grip on these aluminum mounts allows me to attach the clamp and not have it move as I’m cycling even over bumpy surfaces. As you can see I did a little bit of DIY engineering so I can mount a 800 loom light on the left side of my bicycle and an 1100 loom light on the right side of my bicycle and each light is aimed out at a slightly different distance to provide me with the Light I need when riding at night. Now we will get our night ride in tonight and see how they will work

I mounted this on my left fork leg for a light on a commuter bike. Works great. It is high enough for me to reach the light while still riding. This should be the case for most forks with three bolt mounts on each fork leg. The Nug has stayed in place for many rides. No vibration that is independent to that which the bike is already exposed. This has freed up space on my crowded drop bar set up. It's also very easy to get lights on/off the Nub. Wish I had bought this sooner.

I have too many gadgets to fit on my drop handlebars. With a handlebar bag, GPS and GoPro, there was no place to fit my headlight. I bought this to go on an eyelet on my front forks. Looked great but the back end of the light hit my down tube when I turned hard. But I REALLY LIKED this little light nug. I finally found a place for it on the side of my Ortlieb Handlebar Bag which has mounting holes for water bottles. Works great! Love it. Lightweight and nicely machined. Definitely 5 star.

Love this. I use it on my front fork with a light. It is solid and it keeps the light at a great level for seeing the road after dark. Much better than handle bar mounting

This is very handy and keeps your light off your handlebars, which is great if handlebar space is at a premium (bell, computer, phone, coffee cup holder, etc).Make sure that you can put it somewhere tho, as it's designed to typically be used on a fork mount or qr skewer. If you have a handlebar rack, you may use it there. It seems very well made, looks cool and the knurling seems to really hold a light clamp well.A typical road bike may not have a fork boss for something like this, but a QR skewer or fender mount may work.

I have a Surly Long Haul Disc Trucker with Surly front and rear racks. The Portland Design Works Light Nug was the perfect solution to allow me to mount my Bontrager lights to the racks so that my gear didn’t block the lights.I purchased two right angle (90 degree) brackets from Home Depot and used m5 bolts to secure the brackets to the racks and then the Light Nug’s are attached to the brackets. Finally, using the standard Bontrager mounting straps, the lights are affixed to the Nug.I just completed a tour of Florida (around 800 miles) and rode in all kinds of conditions including torrential rain and high winds. I never had an issue with the lights slipping off due to the texture on the Nug outer surface and the sturdiness of the setup. Highly recommend this product to others who want to mount their lights on the ends of their bike racks like I did.

As my touring bike has a large handlebar bag up front, having a front light on the bars with visibility to the light is near impossible so I needed a solution. Being a touring bike it means I also have lots of mounting points on the frame and fork. For the price this mount was a great option. Super easy to install, assuming you have an available mounting bolt somewhere e.g. fork. The textured surface is a nice touch to minimize slipping of the elastic mounting strap.Would recommend.
