Bought this for my grandson who is Civil Air Patrol. He took it to camp and said it was amazing! Its also used in 72 hour pack for groundteam. Quality and Performance is great. He was proud to show it off and use it. No problems at all.

You need to shift the unit around a little when you try to use it because the needle can sometimes stop at up to ten degrees off on accuracy. When you move it around a little it will usually self correct to a more accurate reading.If you are looking for something light this isn't what you want. For a compass it is at least double what I expected for an item that might be put into a backpack with numerous other items. However, it does feel fairly durable which is good.
